Great High Gain Pedal For My Fender Twin Combo!!!!
I have been looking for a looong time to turn my Fender into a clean AND distorted beast, now I've arrived!!! I love my Peavey 5150 Combo, but it's clean channel lacks that fender chime....and I love my Fender Twin, but have always wished it had a high gain side. Now it does with the Dracarys pedal!!! The tone is great for metal and other distorted tones. I've found that the gain… read more is quite tweakable to match a few styles of high distortion tones. I've tried many pedals and this is working the best for me.
Pretty awesome pedal
I REALLY like this pedal, however, I do find that the normal physics of equalization don't necessarily apply to this pedal. You also have to know that I run a solid state 2X12 combo, BUT, I completely bypass the preamp and plug my entire effects chain into the effects return (the preamp is super bright and hard to dial down). This pedal can get fizzy, but I've found that if I… read more run the bass at about 9-10 O'clock, the mid completely dialed out, and the treble at 12-2 O'Clock, I get a super chunky chug, AND it cuts through the mix pretty well. I still have my MT2 and TS-9 on the board, after this one, and still love them. This isn't a full replacement for anything in my chain...but, it definitely gives me that super modern metal tone. It also responds well to touch...meaning, along with my amp, it has some characteristics of the tube amp when you back off a little. It's probably not for everyone, and let's be honest, Ola (whom Brian Wampler designed this pedal to sound like) demos it on a super high end tube amp, along with whatever mic he's using, and it's mixed. That said, Wampler makes really nice pedals! This one is a keeper, for me.
This thing delivers!
This is a very versatile high gain pedal. I Love the 3 band eq and the tight toggle. You can run this pedal at 18v but I've never needed too,THIS PEDALS GOT GAIN GALORE! Very happy with this purchase.
Glad it’s mine
I have a Mesa combo and fender twin reverb. Wanted a distortion pedal that got my single coils sound from my Mesa crunch channel to my fender twin, this is it. Now I have a legit Mesa crunch channel on my twin reverb and it's awesome.
Mesa Dual Rectifier in a pedal
First of, I want to thank Blake of Sweetwater for steering me towards this pedal. I cannot afford a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier (My dream amp), but was craving the MB type distortion. This pedal did the trick and some. It has a very warm saturated high gain, but clear, distortion at higher gain settings, but cleans up quite nicely. Its an oddity though. It reacts more like a… read more tube amp and less like a pedal. I am very satisfied with this purchase. I finally found "that sound in my head" that I was looking for. I can't thank Blake and Nick Beach at Sweetwater enough for the excellent service that they have given me. Two thumbs up!!!
