Overdrive/Boost or Both
Based on price and sound this one is a winner. The build quality is outstanding and the sound is very adaptable to most styles. A ton of choices depending on your needs and desired application. Final thoughts it's worth the small investment.
A must for any OD collection
I have owned this pedal for years. It's one of the most versatile and useable OD pedals on the market. Plenty of great ones around, but, none "better" than this. Complete clean boost to ripping amp overdrive; it gives many shades. Bought another because the price is, well, hard-to-believe low!! Grab one and experience some truth. Truth!:)
Stunning
This is a no brainer at the current price. Easily the best sounding OD pedal I own. It goes from no gain to heaps of chewy goodness without getting noisy or harsh. Now's the time to get one.
Been a while, review of the Blue
I still dig this pedal, not so much for any sort of gain lvl dist it might be capable of but for its foundational core tone which is incredibly amp like when you kick it on. I had a mini red and it did the deal but I am considering getting the red brother to the blue before they go away. I have the blue dialed in for my core cleaner amp tone and use other pedals like the Revv G3… read more for high gains if needed. The mini Bogner's did not have enough adjust for me, not like the full size pedals. Anyway it you're looking for a foundational core tone Bogner Blue. I usually play my LP w the volumes 1/2 to 3/4 and this pedal really brings out the amp like quality of the tones especially the Strymon Iridium models, just improves the whole chain. I change pedals like a baby does diapers but the Blue is just not going anywhere.
Words can not express....
this is without a doubt the best pedal I have ever owned or played, it's design, and range versatility is unmatched. This will give you that Marshall crossed with a Fendery bright that makes the best foundation tone I have ever had. In the pre loop of my Fractal FX8 I run the Bogner Blue in front of my high gains the Revv G3 which is also an unmatched pedal,I also have the Revv… read more G4 and a Diezel Herbert for different colors of high gain. To be honest I have hardly kicked on the G4 or Herbert since I began messing w the Bogner Blue. The sonic stack of the Blue into the G3 is just so good you cannot believe it. The Blue on Plexi and using the variac sag with a bit of mid enhance is just amazing, the best preamping and Marshall like tones are vast and versatile. From clean utterly tube sounding cleaner to G3 gain I am astounded the chemistry at hand. Kick on the Bogner boost with zero added gain or lvl and my god screaming Marshall high gain Jimmy Page would die for. By the way I use a Rocktron Mainline Power Amp with the Bogner as my foundation preamp amp tone with the Revvs and Diezel providing the intense but articulate high gains. The Fractal is only for delays, reverbs, and a few sonic goodies all post preamp gain line, but no drives or boosts. The Blue can certainly gain up much more but I do not have a need for it, I gives me that tube feel and response that I have sought for ages with a range of versatility no mere single amp could hope to attain. I also must say I did have an Origin Drive Deluxe which I thought was amazing but after a while I was not using it to its design intent. The Bogner gives me that but more exactly what I need. While I respect Fractal Amp modeling, these pedals are my analog amp modeling that just go far beyond simple one pony mimics of old amps. Try a pairing of the Bogner Blue and the Revv G3 and you will be convinced these are the two best pedals ever created. NO mere diode or op amp clipping overdrive can hope to do what the Blue does w no effort. Just bloody amazing I am tempted to buy another one and G3 just to keep them as they will never be outdone. The mini Bogner's still sound good I think but you are losing the entire Plexi mode and the boost function. I cannot rave about the combination of these two and if want a more EVH intense brighter dist use the Revv G4 with it. Best sounds I have attained in decades of playing everything under the sun. I gave up on traditional amps years ago, all the tube maintenance and instability thereof. I am getting massive tone and feel of tube amplification with a very untraditional rig which will never not be there when I kick it on. Bogner Blue and even the Bogner Red get them before they go away, Revv G series best pedals on the planet!
