Excellent in Dry and Poly modes. Otherwise...

This pedal is confusing. Let's get that out there. The interface is not user friendly, and finding the right tones can sometimes leave you bewildered as you try to figure out which parameter is ruining your preset. It's great for studio work, but very difficult for a live performance. A preset selector switch would be helpful, but I like the way this pedal works with a expression read more pedal so much. Mono does not track very well at all. I don't use it. Poly sounds fantastic and provides a wide range of soundscape options. It tracks chords and notes well, and the portamento is great. However, it unpredictably has these volume spikes that are really, really easy to drown out every thing else out, quickly. It's less than ideal. The arp mode is great in theory, but there's no way to change the denomination so it's nearly impossible to sync up to anything with tap tempo unless you're super human feet. Dry mode and pitch shifting, for me, are where this pedal shines. You can get some fantastic tones playing through the pedal's filter, delay, and pitch shifting with the exp pedal. However, for 300 that's not enough. I am returning this guy and going for the Hedra instead. Your mileage may vary.

Incredible sounds, but...

If you're reading this, you know what this pedal is capable of doing. It sounds great. The construction is great. That said there are some serious considerations to make here if you want to maximize its possibilities. 1. The UI on Meris pedals is atrocious. I have the Enzo and the Hedra. Don't get me wrong, I love them both. But making them usable and getting new sounds isn't simple. read more Many will love the experience of tweaking knobs to figure it out, but it's not the easiest. You will absolutely need to use a favorite switch or MIDI, which can be a huge pain and an added cost. 2. You cannot use the Meris favorite switch with an expression pedal. In my opinion, this is a huge oversight. The way around this is to get the Meris MIDI switch and a MIDI controller with an expression capability, but again, huge pain and you're doubling the cost of your investment there. All things considered, these aren't huge concessions to make when you're getting something so unique and great sounding. But it's something to be aware of, because if you're using this pedal, you'll want to make use of the presets and use an expression pedal. Hopefully Meris addresses this in their future builds. Thanks to my salesman Todd Kitchen for all the help.

Great Synth Pedal

I have a GR-55 and an SY-300. I'll be keeping the Roland unit, but the SY-300 will be sold. I wanted a synth pedal that would modify my guitar sound, but still sound like a guitar, and not replace it with synth sounds. It had to be small to fir on my pedalboard and not be cluttered with additional effects like the SY-300. The Enzo fits that bill perfectly. And the sounds one can read more get after becoming familiar with the controls are great. I'm giving it 4 stars because it doesn't have accessible presets without purchasing their preset switch, or using some kind of MIDI controller. I did buy the switch and it gives me 4 presets, which is all I'll need without all the hassle of a MIDI setup. It also fits nicely on my pedalboard. All in all, money well spent.

A dreamy, ambient, awesome, and deep pedal

There is so much sonic bliss here it is hard to describe. It tracks superbly well on note changes, which is a big deal for me as a guitarist. Somehow this pedal is able to both add awesome synth sounds to a guitar (or other instrument for that matter), yet still manages to "stay out of the way" and allow my guitar to shine through enough in the mix...it's hard to describe exactly read more how well this pedal is able to pull this off. I wish accessing the Alt functions was easier overall, but this can be remedied with a midi control pedal. I already know I'll be investing in a midi control pedal to access presets on the fly. Apparently this pedal has some stock presets built-in that are only accessible via midi. Nonetheless, this is an exciting pedal to use and hear. I've had many of the EHX and Earthquaker pedals that perform superb synth functions, but the Enzo outperforms them all and has a higher quality sound to it. Highly recommended!
