Bass Guitar
This is from Fender, a 5 string bass. Fender is my favorite guitar company and has been since 1959! I have owned many different ones. This is my first bass. I am crazy about this 5 string bass. It is everything I expected. It has renewed my first love of guitars! Thank you Rob Parker, for your " GREAT "customer service, a Sweetwater hallmark!
Requires minimal aftermarket work
The most versatile bass I've ever dealt with! Highs are always crisp, lows are never muddy. A common problem I've seen and experienced though: the frets need filed down. Otherwise, you'll have to deal with slight fret buzz or play with high action (like i do anyway)
Sweetwater Rocks!
Hey y'all from Deep South Texas. I just wanted to pass on a strong shout out to Sean and the team there. I had an issue with the original axe I was sent, and they made it right QUICKLY! The new axe I received is primo...looks great and sounds great. Many thanks to the Sweetwater team. Honestly y'all, if you buy from anywhere else, well, ya shooting yourself in the foot (ouch!).… read more Cheers and rock on.
JUST GREAT !!!!!!!!!
got this bass in December,it has surpassed my expectations! As Blair says its not "as good" as the American counterpart it is side by side in quality, looks, dependability, fit and finish,"electronics",,,,,,,etc oh but one thing,,,it's only 925 bucks !!!!! don't listen to some players that put this bass down ,IT IS A FENDER JAZZ bass!!!!!
Fantastic Bass
I am a professional touring bassist and I needed a bass not quite as expensive that I could travel with. I own many basses with this being the 20th bass. FENDER KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK WITH THIS ONE. This bass sounds absolutely incredible, just as good as the American or anything else. This has turned into my main bass beating out my other more expensive basses. Lol the first… read more time I played this bass at a show on the road our sound guy ran immediately up to me and said THIS BASS IS THE ONE. I’ve played some huge shows on big stages with this bass, I fly and travel with it all the time and it has held up very nicely. Everywhere I go and play it I get compliments all the time on the sound of it. This thing is a beast, the maple neck really gives this bass a snap, perfect for bassist that like to slap and thump. The pickups are very quite and noiseless, pickup hum is a known problem with many Jazz basses but not this one, which makes it perfect for the studio. I recorded many studio sessions with it as well and it has delivered. The preamp is very nice and very flexible and the 18volt setup really makes a difference, on the preamp it also allows you to flip to passive mode if you want or the batteries die. I highly recommend this bass to professionals, traveling musicians, session studio musicians and all bass players. Whatever style you play this bass will do the job. Trust me you won’t be disappointed, it is worth every penny. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BUY THIS BASS.
My back up bass.
Worth the buy for sure.
Very Versatile Bass!
Wide range of tones for any type of music. Ranging from Metal to Jazz. Active EQ is very responsive and musical. Passive mode is a great feature when you want that classic jazz bass tone. Neck is a little wide but that makes it perfect for slapping and it"s really not hard to get used to. The tone and versatility is worth it. My only gripe is that there isn"t a tone knob in passive… read more mode but no biggy. My markbass Head has a high end roll off and in active mode you can still get the same effect.
Good bass with great tone.
Pros: Great tone and action right out the box. Great bargain for the price. P-ups were in good position as well.Love the tone of the neck pup and the blend right in the middle. Pretty fat tone.Cons: Significant decrease in volume when switching from active to passive. Allen wrench that came with it wasn't a good fitString buzz on the 7th fret of the 2nd string. Wider neck that… read more I anticipated but that's not too bad. In quality, the pros do outweigh the cons.
