Fluence Strat Pickup Battery Pack - Black Review

Had my issues

Purchased a prewired Stratocaster set-up with the Fluence pickups and battery pack. Installed and didn't work. Called Fishman customer support but didn't get any help so did some troubleshooting and found a bad pot. Fishman called back about 5 days after the initial communication but by then Sweetwater provided a replacement. The new pickups work great and the battery pack is worth… read more the dollars. Recharable and a very simple install. The pickups are quite and have great sound but personally like passive pickups more than active. Have tried EMG and now the Fishman Fluence, but will spend the money on a set of passive pickups on the 3-guitar builds I have in process. The last three sets of passive pickups I placed in prior builds are just as quite with no hum and most I install push-pull pots to change a humbucker to a single coil so have the sounds like the Fluence but without the battery. The Fishman Fluence pickups are worth the coin and strongly suggest you include the battery pack if you decide to install a set. I had issues with a bad pre-loaded pickguard and Fishman support, but once I got a replacement from Sweetwater and installed a working set, they are certainly worth the cost and if you like active pickups then recommend them and get the recharable battery pack.

Easy to install

I'm by no means a professional tech but I installed this and the loaded Fishman Fluence Single Width Pickguard in an evening with only a little frustration. (The frustration being that, as other reviews have shown, the pickguard fails to come with all the wires needed to completely install the pickups.) But that has nothing to do with the *battery*. It looks nice though I can definitely… read more feel it protruding from the body of the guitar into my belly. It's not horrible, but, I still know it's there. No regrets though. If I had to do it over again I'd still go with it.

Fishman Fluence Strat Pickup Battery Pack--Black

Perfect!

I ordered the Fluence single-width set in black and purchased this battery pack to go along with it. It's light, slim and unobtrusive. Charging it is simple and easy. Fishman supplies an adaptor with a very long USB cord. Red light means still charging. Green light means fully charged. It is nice to not have to deal with replacing 9v batteries.
