Mesa Boogie Flux5 EQ
I have previously owned several Mesa Boogie amps. Over time I upgrade to the Mark V and so on. I sold them in the past because I did not play as much. Now that I am playing a lot more, I was using my Boogie Triple Crown but still it was too much for my modest needs. I still own it but play it on special occasions and wanted something a bit lighter in which I could transport… read more around without hurting my back. So, I recently purchased a Fender Blues Breaker which in my opinion is the best sounding and most versatile amp that Fender makes. I know that is a bold statement but that's what I think. So, I immediately missed my Boogie and conducted a ton of research seeking that holy grail sound that the Triple Crown produces. Well, I ordered the Flux5 EQ. So, I was bracing myself for a bit of disappointment but after hooking it up to my BB amp I could not believe how great it sounded along with the vintage Boogie sound. I literally felt I was in Nirvana playing it last night. If you want to add the Flux to your vacuum tube amp and create the cleanest and most transparent overdrive as well as clean sound from your amp, look no further.
Organic tone.
I am playing it through a Two Rock Studio Signature. I have tried a lot of OD and distortion pedals. From JHS A+, to muff's and dumble style and Free the Tone Suhr Riot etc.. I just couldn't get a tone I liked. I tried the Flux Five and my search was over. Just the tone I was looking for. The 5 band EQ really shines. The treble turned down with the high frequency boost using the… read more 5 band give you that sweet Mesa Mark singing lead tone. (in the boosted mode (Hi)) The lo mode has a nice crunch but I really like the Hi mode. Highly recommend this pedal.
Flux five
If you are looking for great tone ... all i can say is wow. You won"t be disappointed. That with great customer service at sweetwater and I'm a happy camper.
Like it a lot
This is a "desert island" must have pedal for me. I received it yesterday, set it up for the classic Mesa V shape and after a few minor tweaks I lost myself in the sweetest tone I have ever heard. No kidding, I played for 3 hours and was completely unaware of the time that had passed.
Love this stomp box
Have two Boogie's,DC5 and 50 caliber (El84's),and this thing nails those tones even through a practice amp.Have and had just about every overdrive only to put them on shelf and not use them.I use this instead of channel 2 now full time, would buy again.
