Great BEFORE distortion

Solid feel, excellent action: moves exactly as you intend and stays where you leave it. Use it before distortion to get more from it; I combine location with reverb and delay and after you silence your signal the effect is incredible. Being passive it does have a little loss, so you'll need a boost after it, main loss of signal to me is at the mids. I have a JHS Haunting Mids after… read more it and it picks up everything back, and I tried a JHS prestige (which I'm getting next), and is also acceptable FOR ME (you may feel different).

This pedal has served me well over the past year. It is incredibly sturdy and compact. Any extra board real estate helps. The sweep is different than the venerable VP Jr., but that's not a BAD thing. It was easy to get used to and it feels "right" now. Just know that out of the box it won't feel exactly like that "my string broke 5 times now" VP Jr that you finally gave up on.
