Galileo treble booster

Bart Lynn

Like so many of us now I've had my own studio for close to twenty years, I'm always looking for new ways to get new tones. I'm using the Galileo with a Brian May guitar and a Vox Ac10, not that I'm trying to sound like Brian May but for the option to produce similar tones for certain tracks. I'm still working with it, but overall I am able to create tones that are uniquely Brian read more May-ish which is all I'm really trying to do. It does produce those screaming over tones that we all love, but like all treble boosters the hissing can be an issue. it definitely needs to be gated for recording tracks, I keep thinking with technology advances that someone will figure out how to remove all or some of the hiss, but if you want to produce those screaming over tones, it seems to do that pretty well.

Get an 18v Power Supply!!!

This is not your standard Treble Booster. Read the reviews and get an 18v power supply or this will sound wimpy and thin. Believe me this makes a HUGE difference in tone. Just adding this to a clean sound will add girth or using as a lead boost on your crunch channel will add saturation and harmonics as if you're pushing your amp and about to start feeding back. The overdrive read more has more gain than you'd expect pushing it almost into fuzz territory. Queen fans rejoice for that Vox Treble Booster tone and them some! I'm so happy with this pedal!!!

Needs 18v power to sound good!

I almost returned this pedal, until I plugged in an 18v power adapter. I think the pedal has way too much treble when using 9v power. After this pedal gets the juice it needs, it sounds awesome!

Good simulation of the Brian May sound.

This does a pretty good job of simulating an AC30. The pedal recreates the tube preamp of an AC30 with FETs and adds a treble booster. I have an Orange Rocker 32 and a Guild Brian May Signature Model guitar. I plugged this in and used the clean channel and it comes pretty close to that "Queen" sound. The overdrive is always on. You adjust the distortion level with your volume read more knob on your guitar. I used to put a treble booster in front of my Wah. With this pedal it sounds much better after the Wah. This is a lot cheaper and takes up a lot less space than buying an AC30. If you want a cheap alternative to buying another amp buy this pedal.

Does exactly what the name implies, sound like an AC30 with a Rangemaster treble booster. The only knock I have on it is it's quite noisey, it was little disappointing, but I don't regret the purchase at all
