Love it
beautiful. subtle. this is always on my board, and it stays "on" just about 100% of the time. provides lovely boost, tone, and color. pair it with another OD or fuzz to put things over the top. as others mention, if you want loads of sustain, or mud or slush, this isn't the pedal for you. but if you want to find those wonderful spots where things are just breaking up, with lots… read more of warmth and clarity, then check it out.
Use it like a fuzz!!
With some of the bias and voltage settings used as the "drained battery" sound, and another overdrive or distortion pedal (or your amps drive channel) running simultaneously you get an awesome fuzz effect, which is the most creative way I've found to use this pedal. Now, stacking this OD with another pedal is definitely the best way to get a really nice overdrive. I run it with an Alembic Stratoblaster clone pedal and it sounds very nice.
Not much you can do with it
You can only have about 3 settings possibly 4 maxium setting you can get out of this pedal that our doable for me. You can get that 60s tone from but not much blues or sustain. I've heard the Germanium 4 Big Muff and if that had been around when i purchased this, i would have traded it in for that! The Germanium 4 Big Muff has so much more flexibility. You can get a nice blues tone… read more and use the distortion channel for lead. EH outdid themselves with the Germanium 4. If you're looking to buy this one, DO NOT! Get the GERMANIUM 4 instead!
