I was reluctant to take this step as I have always used tube amps. As I've gotten older hauling gear is starting to take some of the joy from doin shows. So I started researching and reading, reading, reading about new tech and how it compares to old tech. Modeling has obviously grown up and has its place in modern music. I grabbed the Gigboard and a Headrush 8" powered speaker. read more I set it up and had a great, very natural sounding rig in minutes. I added some effects and made a copy (only louder) for a lead boost and used it at a gig a few days later. It was great! I have some minor tweeting to do and I'll add some different rigs to play with but all in all… this is thing is awesome. If your sick of lugging 300 lbs of guitar amps all over gods creation this is the solution. A large majority of your "tone" comes from your hands and how you "play" your guitar. This this is very VERY responsive. If it doesn't sound good to you, keep reading and trying new rigs and settings. I'm guessing if you can't find a great sound on this unit.. you probably can't find a good sound on a real amp either. Lol. No disrespect intended. So for me anyway, this checks all the boxes I had set to do what I need it to do. And it does it very well. As usual thanx Jim Watson and sweetwater, you all RAWWK!!

I'm going to be perfectly honest with this review. I was a total idiot for being talked into buying a Pod Go after seeing the Headrush Pedalboard. I really wanted to get that but I only play at home so the $ was a bit high for me. After looking at my Pod Go sitting idle for months, I decided to sell it and buy a Headrush. The MX5 was available for less money but I was really pulled read more in by the huge 7" touch screen on the Gigboard. After watching all the videos I could find I was not only hooked but noticed that all the amps, effects, IR's, setlist and rigs are interchangeable on all HR's board. So not only can you share more easily than Line 6 pedals, the DSP power is the same on all of them. I also feel that the presets called rigs sound much better on the Gigboard than the Pod Go. They are also so easy to create from scratch thanks to that big touchscreen. Plenty of amps, cabs, IR's and pedals to get the tone you want fast. It would take me at least 3 times as long on the Pod. You don't need software on a Mac,PC or mobile device. Everything is very intuitive and user-friendly. I love it so much, I sprung for the HR expression pedal, even though I have other that I could easily have gotten to work with it. So I guess I saved $ not buying the Pedalboard, which is fine because I don't really need all those extra footswitches for my needs. And these products are built like tanks. I would highly recommend someone checking these out before purchasing a multi-effects pedal.

More than I expected!!!

I was a bit skeptical about getting the Headrush Gigboard because I have never been a fan of AMP MODELING effects units. Well, I gave it a shot and It was the best decision ever! Yes at first it took me a bit to find my way around but once I got the hang of it, I was good to go. I've been creating rigs within minutes and now I'm very glad I got this pedal. Thank you Sweetwater and read more thank you Grant Vitek for being very helpful and professional. P.S. I got a DEMO and it was in GREAT CLEAN condition!

I haven't yet scratched the surface of this thing. I am still upgrading my studio. I Took it out of the box and played few factory presets they sounded huge and definitely professional. I heard it has great amps but doesn't have high shelf pedals !!! sort of ordinary Reverbs delays and Distortion. But that can be fixed by adding a couple of your boutique pedals. The touch screen read more is pretty huge and there are a myriad of excellent things to talk about the GigBoard maybe in a later review. I put it back in it's Box because I am setting up other stuff. From what I saw on YouTube I would recommend it to anyone really. There's one particular YouTube Demo which goes on for more than an hour and it tells you everything about it.

The Gigboard actually saved me money. I play acoustic rhythm for a contemporary gospel group. I had checked into a few pedals that was needed to get the sound I was looking for. The gig board has it all. It was cheaper to buy the Gigboard than it was to get the pedals. The sound it produces is awesome. Joe Secu at Sweetwater was very helpful . He helped me to make a great decision read more in my purchase. I use to make purchases from other companies but did not get the service that I get from Sweetwater. Thank You to Joe and the rest of the gang at Sweetwater. You Guys Rock.
