Tube amp snob.
I am a Tube amp purist, and in my 42 years playing I have always hated digital platforms. But. Wow!!! What an extremely awesome tool. Keeping in mind all of the stages I play are "silent". My tube amp was always in an Iso cab backstage. Not only does it faithfully recreate the sound and feel of all these iconic, legendary mic'd amps. But also gives the ability to switch (mid… read more song) from a super clean Amp to a raunchy amp. Last Sunday I played 4 songs through 4 different amps each one sounding as phenomenal as the last. Each tempo was already set for my delay pedal but one I tapped in. I think my drummer sped up. I love that with the touch of a foot switch I can turn on and off multiple pedals at the same time. With delay tempo set for each song of the set. The only thing I miss is the smell of tubes cooking. Also my sales associate was Eric. He was super helpful and professional.
Wow, what a great Multi-Effects Processor! Great effects, easy to use and perfect for worship and any other style!
I have always played with a standard pedal board, but always wanted to add more delay, reverbs, etc., but it was getting expensive buying all those pedals. I went and saw a friend of mine, playing live and saw he was using a HELIX. I wasn't familiar with the HELIX at that time, so afterwards I asked him what he was using and when I found it was a multi-effects processor, I couldn't… read more believe that he was getting such great tones out of it. So, I began my HELIX research journey and found that this was something I needed. I play multiple instruments for our worship ministry at church and this works perfect for my electric, acoustic, and bass guitars! I have been enjoying playing around with it, building my own patches, dialing in the tones, and downloading pre-made patches! I am super happy with this buy and look forward to eventually learning enough to use it to it's fullest, but overall, it is fairly simple to use! Line 6 nailed it!
Better than a tube amp!
At least in a high gain situation. I can't argue against a good ol' deluxe reverb or Princeton, but even then, the helix has covered. I can't believe how good this sounds. I wasn't concerned with trying to make it sound exactly like my Mark V with all its tube glory. I just wanted some good heavy tones and portability. I did have high hopes that going into a power amp and using… read more my actual cab was going to be the best way to get the "feel" of a amp. Now I can throw the helix and the Seymour Duncan Powerstage 700 in a back pack, guitar in one hand and my 2x12 in the other. Couldn't be happier with this set up!
Great product!!
Big ups and props to Louis Sawyer, my rep, for recommending this. The amount of tones, pedals, amps, is staggering. Sound quality is fantastic. If you are looking for an all in one, this is the product to buy. I do find it is better to run the Helix itself through an XLR to TRS cable direct into your interface, as opposed to using Helix Native. I do have Helix Native, but I… read more believe the sound quality is better running the Helix direct to the interface, if you are recording with it.
Best piece of guitar equipment I've ever bought! And it's not even close.
Had Helix Floor just over a year now. Simply the best thing I've ever purchased in music, and that includes my guitars. It is so easy to use, sounds so good at any volume, and just does everything. I am a home player and need to play with low volume a lot and this thing is perfect both with studio monitors (I use JBL 308s) and with headphones (Audio Technica ATH-m50x). I play… read more loud when I can and the Helix and JBL's do a great job. I just ordered a PowerCab Plus 112 and that's why I am on and writing a review after a year. I keep my Helix hooked to my PC by USB and Helix Edit is just the easiest to use modeling program. I can custom build presets in just a few minutes. My wife was watching Supernatural the other night and I heard the Kansas song opening "Carry on My Wayward Son" and I just had to learn to play it. Preset built and dialed in within about 10 minutes. My Fender blackface Princeton 65 PRRI gets touched maybe once a month now whereas I play through the Helix every single day. Can't recommend any higher. Oh, and I know $ extra for the scribble strips over the LT is a lot, but I friggen love them!
