Excellent for worship (and probably anything else)
The Helix LT is great on its own, but with the extra patches included in the worship edition, it's even easier to set up for church. It basically lets make your own custom pedalboards with high-quality emulations of dozens of pedals, amplifiers, and speaker cabinets (along with impulse responses and probably other things, as well), and then it lets you reconfigure your whole pedalboard… read more or switch from one custom pedalboard to another with the press of a footswitch. The additional worship presets are great templates to tweak here and there for particular songs, and the snapshots are an excellent way to switch quickly from clean to overdrive to ambient to lead (and so on). My only complaint is this: The HX Edit software runs only on Windows and Mac O.S., and since I use Linux, I need to use a Windows virtual machine to configure it using the software (which is much more convenient to use for tweaking things, especially while I'm holding my guitar). A future improvement might be to give it a web interface so that you could access it from any kind of computer. I know that would mean additional processing by giving it an onboard webserver, but it would still be nice.
Game Changer
I play acoustic, lead, and bass guitar at my church and I absolutely love that I can have one unit to fulfill everything I need. The tones that I can get out of this thing are phenomenal. On top of that, I actually run front of house more often than I end up playing guitar on any given Sunday so I can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciate the lack of an amp on stage and… read more having this pedal go directly into the board. While I've been playing guitar for over 20 years, I haven't ever had a proper pedalboard so I have to admit that I am pretty unfamiliar with what pedals to invest in and what order to hook them up in my rig so the ability to spend a couple bucks here and there on patches from musicians who are far more talented than I am is great. I can focus on just playing guitar and trust that my tone is always going to be top notch. And finally pricing. If you were to go out and buy each of these amps, cabs, effect pedals, etc. you would spend a fortune. You'd spend far more than what it costs to acquire this Helix LT. It's truly a phenomenal deal.
No regrets after finally pulling the trigger
Waited years to get one. Turns out it is all I needed live and is so easy to craft sounds and make changes on the fly at venues. L6 is great about updating it and always adding new amps and features. The presets in the worship bundle were a nice starting point to get going with. Spent a lot of time crafting my own tones now though and have been very pleased with the results. Seems… read more like the perfect solution for worship in particular with so many wanting amps off stage now. I find the LT to be all I need and with snapshot views or stompbox mode on the LCD screen I don't feel like I miss the scribble strips. Plenty of outputs to go to front of house too and run stereo if you need it. Highly recommended here. -Michael Love
