Great sound
I am completely satisfied with this pedal. I own several Wampler pedals and I have been satisfied with all of them.
Amazing pedal, perfect circuit design
I got this pedal recently and I had been waiting to put it thru its paces before I reviewed it. I have played this pedal for the last few weeks on my studio and it sounded great! This pedal is amazing! Every knob on this pedal has a function and the controls are very responsive. I actually asked Brent Mason on his personal Instagram what he recommended as far as settings and amps.… read more He answered me back and said his settings change from song to song, session to session. So tonight I ran the following rig at a country gig I had. I ran both of my Fender Telecaters one with a B bender the other with a G bender. I ran the hotwired on the first channel all night. I adjusted the blend knob depending on the song. I ran an Exotic Compressor, Fender Blackface Deluxe reverb with a celestion V30 speaker, and a slapback delay. The sound I was getting out of th that rig, and out in front of house was INSANE! The perfect blend of crunch and clean. I didn't have to run the fat switch at this show, but the hotwired stayed on all night all I did was tweak the blend knob. I stacked both channels if I needed Extra sustain on a lead. Thru a deluxe reverb this pedal absolutely smokes! It did everything. I got Bakersfield twang all the way to modern country grind. I love it! Brian Wampler is a genius and in Brent's videos everything he states about the pedal is true. I got so many remarks on my guitar sound tonight and how clear and punchy it was. This pedal is also very touch responsive and interacts well with your volume pot on your guitar. I highly recommend it not just for a country player but for anyone who is looking for an amazing overdrive pedal!
SECOND REVIEW
LOOKING DOWN FROM RIGHT TO LEFT AMONG OTHER MODULATION, WA WA ETC PEDALS I SEE; WAMPLER TUMNUS(mini), A PAISLEY DELUXE, AND A HOTWIRED. IN A COVER BAND YOU GET SO MANY TONES TO PRODUCE THAT YOU NEED PEDALS AND A GOOD AMP - I HAVE THE TWIN REVERB TONE MASTER (SWEET). I PUT ON A FREIDMAN BE-OD....TOOK IT OUT...PUT IN A SANS AMP...METAL END...I TRIED A LOT OF PEDALS TO GO FROM 'BROWN… read more SUGAR' to 'ERUPTION' AND FINALLY COMBINED THE THREE WAMPLERS I MENTIONED. WOW!!! THESE PEDALS ARE DEAD QUIET WITH ANY 2 BUTTONS PUSHED AND SO PRITINE WHEN IT COMES TO TOUCH AND CLARITY YOU CANT BEET EM.
Fantastic Pedal!
I've owned this pedal for a few months now and have put it to use in multiple country and rock settings, and these are my thoughts. The two channels on this is genius, I can play a gig with this pedal only and be happy with the tone. I love the break up for channel one, is truly amazing for those country leads, as well as some overdriven rock stuff. Channel two is smooth and has… read more a lot of gain. I'm very very happy with the sounds from this pedal and it is something I use constantly. I also love the fat switches on each channel, it's a great idea! I do feel like it's one of those pedals that you have to take some time to dial in to get the sound you're looking for. But once it's dialed in for your taste you're set. I didn't have a hard time with channel two, but I had to work to dial in and understand channel one. I feel channel one can get fuzzy, but if it's dialed in right it sounds great. I do truly love this pedal, I use it often and would buy it again if I lost it! This has been an awesome purchase, but I recommend taking the time to understand the pedal's sounds.
One Of Wamplers Best
I own the first version of this pedal and hopefully, I will soon own this one as well. Brian and Brent really did a wonderful job with this overdrive/distortion unit. Last year I made the jump over to modeling when I purchased the Line6 Helix but, my original Hot Wired unit and my Tumnus are the only two drives that got moved over and are being run through the loops in the Helix.… read more I consistently get the nicest compliments on my drive tones and it"s impossible to not point out the Hot Wired. It works so well with other drives or simply as a stand alone. This is a well done drive platform that has only been enhanced with the version 2. I"ve never bothered two own two of one pedal but, the Hot Wired will be the exception. Cheers!
