Little box or Big box ?
I've gone small this time . The big version had a great sound , I was never happy with the in/out location . The small version sounds great and fits my board better .
First fuzz - great choice
This is my first time purchasing a fuzz pedal. I wanted to try something that didn't take up too much pedal board space and didn't break my bank. I own other MXR pedals and I've been happy with them all. One thing that drew me to this pedal was the input buffer. I wanted a classic silicone fuzz that would "play nice" with my envelope filter before it (I own a Keeley Neutrino… read more v1). This little fuzz box is great! I gave it a 4 out of 5 simply because I have not tried other fuzz pedals and can't compare it. The buffer works just as described. With it on, my envelope filter sounds perfect (great "wahed" out Hendrixy sounds). If I disengage the buffer, the filter gets insane and sputtery (which can be fun too). I actually prefer the pedal overall buffered (even without the envelope filter) and its stacks well with my overdrives (a MXR Timmy and a Keeley Super Phat Mod). With the buffer engaged the fuzz is a little brighter and works well with my set up. Bottom line is this pedal is a great, little, flexible fuzz and takes up little pedal board space. And its based on the JH fuzz face. You can't beat that! The price tag makes it really makes it easy to add one to your Sweetwater order.
This Little Pedal Is Money
I had a Dunlop Fuzz Face Mini on my board and liked it but read about this little guy with the buffer....what a game changer. Now on my board (The dunlop is for sale) my tone has a a killer kick with a little fuzz (12-15%?) and heavy output, and the buffer on keeps it crisp...less dark. This is now my go to for boosting solos behind over drives for 70s and 80s rock. Just love… read more this thing!
Great Fuzz
I like it a lot. Great little Fuzz.
Review MXR M296 Classic 108 Fuzz Mini Pedal
This pedal packs a knockout punch....seriously. I use it for a little boost on any distortion that I'm using and it beefs it up exponentially without any unwanted noises or feedback. It is as advertised - A Classic.
