Superb
I'm not much for drive pedals. I've always preferred the straight tube amp overdrive for solos. Add a drive pedal and it takes away from the clarity of the original valve tone. This pedal is perfect for adding more gain but to not interfere with the amp tone. Great transparent gain that blends perfectly. Well done.
A good pedal but not for everyone
I've struggled with this pedal. It's dark until you turn up the gain. It's fairly compressed and even more so when you turn up the gain (Of course) ...So if I have my tone happening and I add this - it's too dark and compressed. This pedal can work well if you start from scratch with it as a foundation and build around it...esp when you realize that most amps are too bright and… read more usually also have too much low end to begin with...then it can be a real problem solver! The way it works best for me is to dime the vol and leave the gain at minimum and then adjust the highs and lows ... If you turn up the gain it will mess up your setting bigtime esp on the top end because the way brightness increases with it's gain...And it has a pantload of gain! (which I mostly don't use) If you raise any eq bands and also up the gain well it's very cumulative and you quickly enter distorto hell... But used with a bright and bassy amp it can be your friend... I place any drives after it and use them for seasoning the dirt...Mark Letierri himself uses it to compensate for rental and or venue amps to get them in his zone and that's this pedal's strength...Not that you couldn't use it for dirt because it can provide alot! ...But that's when it becomes problematic for me anyway... I bought this thing and considered moving it many times but Mark always sounds good so I hung on to it...and I think I finally get it...

Amazing OD pedal. Many sound options.

I picked this up to replace a Blue Note I had on my board for a long time. I had also been considering The Dude, but according to one of Mark Lettieri's videos, this pedal has characteristics of both the Dude and Blue Note, so I didn't have to choose! The graphic EQ makes this pedal work in any way you need it to. I use it as my first stage overdrive to add some compression and… read more some high end to the signal and it works even better than I expected because of the EQ. As a side note, this pedal is just slightly wider than the normal Tour Series enclosures. Also, Make no mistake; There is a lot of gain in this pedal. More than I was expecting.
STRAIGHT FIRE
I actually bought this at a Sam Ash store but i think everyone should know that this pedal is a game changer. I put it almost at the end of my board right before my delay and chorus. I always keep this pedal on, ALWAYS. I seriously want to buy another one...
