Mystic Edge AC30-style Overdrive Pedal with NuTube Review

Fantastic pedal!

This thing is amazing! I have been looking for a way to get close to Brian May's sound and this is the best thing I have found so far. I already have 3 tube amps and do not want to buy an AC30 too. Besides, Brian uses a AC30 with all the top boost circuits removed. This thing sounds really close to an AC30. Real tube sound. It has a bright switch so you can use it for everything else. Sounds fantasic with Teles, Strats & Gretsches also. A much cheaper alternative to buying a full AC30.

Fantastic - very realistic AV30 emulation

Even up to and including tube sag when overdriven, and chimey cleans. Combined with a treble booster, it reacts as you'd expect.

Best Pedal On The Market

I'm not sure what Wizard and mad Scientist Vox found but it's the Holy Grail team.  I have played a lot of gear before but this Mystic Edge is unparalleled to anything out there. It has just transformed my tone to another world.  It responds like an AC30.  I don't know if it is because I have a Vox AC10 amp but it's so insanely good.  The extra Chimey Clean to these Legendary… read more sounding drives.  It's like hearing Prince and his tones.  Instant love and admiration and wonder  Mystic Edge is the perfect name for it because that is exactly what it adds.  A mystic edge of dreams. using it as an always on is the way to go. Turn the gain off and turn up the volume gives you this big clean tone. This will allow you to achieve any tome you want by adding another drive pedal in front.

I use mine in the preamp mode at the end of my chain right before a GFI System Cabzeus Stereo Speaker Simulator & DI Box. For the first time I've nailed a direct to FOH sound that sounds like it's coming from a miced up cab. I used the bright switch on with the treble at 9 o'clock with the gain around the same.
