GREAT for that Jimi vibe!

I have a Voodoo Lab Proctavia on one of my boards and wanted a second octave fuzz for my main board, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money. The MXR Octavio is FANTASTIC. I was shocked at how good it is, actually. The octave tracking is great and the fuzz is smooth. I highly recommend this pedal. Plus, no center positive power weirdness like most octave fuzzes and it's in a small read more (normal) enclosure!

Not really the kind of fuzz I would seek out for my preferred tastes in a rhythm section, but it doesn't really matter since I've already taken care of that end elsewhere. My primary reason for seeking out the Octavio was to use as a boost during soloing. It's exactly what I'd been looking for. Finding the sweet spot with any amp or guitar was easy and it's the right fuzz, the right read more octave delivery, and the right predictably-unpredictable harmonic personality I wanted. With that mission accomplished, like most fuzzes, it's also a fun tool to experiment with. Even with the gazillion fuzzes now on the market, I'm surprised this tried and true legend relocated into the standard go-to MXR housing hasn't garnered more attention.
