Just What I Needed
I am a beginner. I was searching for the right distortion pedal, listening carefully to video reviews of different pedals on YouTube, unsure exactly what I wanted. As it turns out, it was this pedal. It provides both overdrive and distortion in an inexpensive package, and my untrained ear likes the sound.I bought a 9V Snark power supply because I didn't want to worry about batteries.… read more Obviously you can activate and deactivate the effect by stepping on the pedal, but to turn off (i.e. power down) this pedal once it is on, you have to disconnect the input line. Otherwise, it will stay "on" (draining power). At only $, you can't go wrong (although I haven't put it through a lot of use). Yes, it's plastic, so don't get carried away with your stomping, but it seems sturdy enough.
Nice Pedal
Can't beat them for the price.
Tube screamer and metal distortion
Think soft clipping for the od part and a hard clipping for the distortion. With the ability to mix. It's the best of both worlds. Great pedal for the price!! I know people think the plastic case makes them a crappy pedal and they will break. Although have never seen one with any cracks in them. But does anyone remember the arion guitar pedal from the 80's. Those are made with… read more even cheaper plastic. People call them crap back in the day and where very cheap to buy. Now those are hard to find and the prices are crazy!! Me thinks the Behringer's will be in the same boat soon if not already. Prices for used discontinued models are crazy in price and only going up. Even currant models on reverb and ebay are nuts. Get them while they last at Sweetwater. I have them all now, even a few doubles.
Be bringer OD300
I was looking to find a backup distortion pedal in case I had a problem with my main distortion and now the OD300 is my main distortion. This pedal sounds amazing and it sounds as good if not better than my Boss distortion. I have been playing for 50 plus years and have tried just about every kind of distortion pedal out there and this one foots the bill. I would hesitate to… read more order another one if need be. The people at Sweetwater did an excellent job as always and when I need any new gear they are were I go. After buying this pedal I have added three more Beginner pedals to my set up.
