The Prestige serves me in multiple ways. First, and foremost, it adds back whatever a bunch of pedals (even though most are buffered) and cables take out. It acts as sort of a brightness or presence boost and brings back the sparkle you get when you plug your guitar straight into the amp. Second, since I run two amps in stereo, I can use the Prestige like a master volume control… read more to keep the amps synced. Third, for lower output single coil guitars, I can use the Prestige to boost the signal to humbucker volume without fiddling with both amps. I should have bought something like this years ago. It's an unexciting pedal, but it makes such a difference!

This unit performs exactly as expected. No colorization of tone as I can tell. (You can also use it to drive your tubes just a bit past their breakup threshold

This small pedal has been miraculous in making my tone vibrant. My signal traverses 8 pedals and 3 rack processors. Prior to adding this pedal, my tone was muted and dull, now it sparkles. I do keep the boost down when Drive or Modulation pedals are engaged as the boost overloads the pedals slightly. Otherwise, I have the boost up to 25% as suggested. I really like the JHS Prestige Buffer/Booster pedal. This little guy works great and takes up half the space of most pedals. I use it mostly as a buffer (10 o'clock position) and not a boost but a little turn of the knob and a clean boost is there with no colorization. Typical high quality JHS construction and operation.
