I absolutely love this pedal. It sounds amazing with humbuckers, single coils and everything in between. My favorite part about this pedal is that it stacks really well with every thing I throw at it. Well worth the money, I only wish I would have found this pedal 10 years ago! Like most guitarists, I've gone through many OD/distortion pedals and this is my first Keeley. This one is a keeper, it manages to achieve a huge range of tones and you can get some of those nice harmonics, which not all pedals can pull off. Great build quality. I reluctantly deducted a half star only because I feel like the tone range is at the warmer/bass side, I usually have the tone at 9.5 - I would prefer it was more centered. Not sure if there is any tone variation among the germanium chips or not. This pedal also works well with single coils, which to me is the tougher test for OD/distortion pedals.

I read a couple of reviews on this item and own several Keeley pedals but I am truly impressed with the organic and full range sound of the pedal without the muddy sound often accompanying distortion type pedals. Get one you really enjoy it!

This sounds so organic it even manages to blow the silicon Red Dirt to smithereens. It's like a Tube Screamer on steroids. Robert Keeley has been tweakin' the standard Red Dirt for years and, as far as I'm concerned, this germanium version has all the goodness, plus frosting!
