60’s in a box, brutal and glorious

PUT THIS BEFORE A BUFFER!!! I almost returned this fuzz. Being a Big Muff kinda guy, I always have them behind my OD so that I can push them to heavy, aggressive new places. I got the Satisfaction fuzz and put it in the same place by the Muffs, assuming it's a modern take on an old circuit. TREBLE piercing city!!!!! Whoa was this thing bright and piercing. The problem was, it sounded… read more kind near like it did on reviews, but I assumed on my SS Orange CR60C, it was how it was going to sound. I tried EQ, ODs, coating it in reverb but it sounded like a small transistor radio blaring Iron Butterfly. I remembered people saying that fuzz faces need to go before a buffer, so I moved it up front and out came all the brash, harsh fuzz ugliness I was hoping for. It is the trebly fuzz sound of the 60's. Sounds like "Spirit in the Sky", Grateful Dead's "Cold Rain and snow", "Psychotic Reaction", "In-a-gada-da-vida," and of course "Satisfaction". I wish it had a tone knob even if a small sweep just to add a pinch of bass because it is harsh (in a good way). EHX really nailed the tone I have to say, and for a great price.
