Extremely versatile and adaptable drive
The DSM silver linings drive pedal is an extremely versatile drive. It can easily function as a clean boost, tube screamer style mid hump bump lower gain overdrive and also venture far into much higher gain functions. The pre-tone and eq knobs are very effective at carving and shaping the tone of the pedal and enable it to work with many amp types. Also the pre amp setting works… read more into a power amp. I have also used it with the new UA FX amp pedals and they easily deliver and can transform a deluxe reverb or vox into a much angrier and higher gain amp. The pedal is built well. The extra boost on board also allows for solo boosts or just a gain boost.
Delicious and delightful!
I picked mine up from another vendor not too long ago. This pedal has a lot of options, but at the same time it's not overly complex. What is complex is tone and saturation coming from it. My Bogner is a single-channel high headroom amp designed for pedals. The DSM SL opens the amp and gives it dimension. I don't find it complicated to dial in or operate at all.. actually the opposite.… read more I have about thirty pedals, and this is one of my favorites along side of my Red Witch Fuzz God IV (purchased from Sweetwater). I own several other overdrives and fuzz pedals, but these two are keepers for sure! I don't review things much at all, but I feel as if I need to balance the first review with my input. Not to rain on anyone's parade, but I don't see how this pedal can be complicated to operate. You have the typical tone section many drives/distortions have. There is a built in boost, different clipping options, and that's about it. The pre and post boost can color and contour tone too. Now if you want to discuss complicated pedals, I would say pick up a Meris pedal, any Meris will do. I really want to love my Enzo, but dagnabit, that is a pedal that will give you heartburn trying to operate. The SL really is a glorious multi-talented offering. Give its try, it will delight you.
Great sounds to complex.
This pedal has tons of sounds but is complicated to operate and not very intuitive.
