Doesn't Sound Right
All demos of this pedal sounded great but from the moment I plugged it in, I have not been impressed. All volume comes from the grit knob so you could get a low gain tube screamer sound. Not that much headroom on tap. Made my guitar sound like it was running directly into a speaker with no amp. Treble knob gets gross after the 3 o'clock range. Not impressed
A Worthy Investment
A supreme sounding OD pedal. Several parameters for tone tweaking and very simple to operate. One of the very best in it's class.
Tubescreamer in the Right Context!!
For a long time, I really didn't get the obsession with tubescreamer style pedals...I made the same mistake that pretty much everyone makes that doesn't understand how they're used by the greats that have played em. I played it through moderate volume and therefore had to crank the gain on the pedal in order to get enough breakup. Sounded terrible. Then I saw vertex effects explanation… read more on YouTube with their review on this pedal and thought it made a whole lot of sense. But I still didn't plan on cranking my tube amp to the point where it would naturally break up...my family would veto that real quick...and this pedal really did give me the results that I wanted. Sounds great!
