EHX Tattoo pedal

I actually bought this pedal to use on bass. I was very surprised it works great, I thought the Metal Muff would be to much, but to my supprise it is very controllable. I going to use this pedal for praise and worship.Sometimes we play pretty hot worship, we rock for God. And again I have to say there is a lot of music stores around Austin, but I have been buying everything from read more Sweetwater everything. The people there are awesome. They are great for helping you just ask them ask them anything, my go to man there is Ben, they have free shipping and it's pretty fast . Do yourself a favor and try them out.

It isn't perfect, but it is a solid choice for beginners

The Tone Tattoo isn't without flaws, but it is a solid 3-in-1 pedal for beginners. It is a simple pedal, which I think is both a positive and a negative. The Neo Clone chorus works as expected, but mine always pops the first time I turn it on. Maybe that's just my unit though. This effect is by far the easiest to tweak: one knob, plus a depth toggle for a more intense effect. read more It is simple, but effective. The Metal Muff gets you decent high-gain tones, but after using it a lot, I'd prefer more tweakability: instead of selecting a mid-scoop level, I'd prefer a mids knob to accompany the treble and bass knobs so I could dial in just the right amount of mids, which are all too important to gloss over, especially for metal. Also, the noise gate is a nice feature, but I wish there was more to it than one knob; it tends to cut your notes off that are trying to sustain unless you introduce more noise into the signal with a compressor and/or overdrive. The Memory Boy delay is also a great delay for beginners; it offers the sounds you'd expect from a good delay, but it lacks frills that other pedals may offer. The gain knob here is a weird choice, because while it does add a boost to your signal, it does color it slightly, more like an overdrive than a boost. I usually keep it off or almost off. Speaking of color, the delay tends to do that as your notes die; I've noticed they get a little...hazy and darker as they repeat. This isn't a huge deal, but it doesn't mimic a super-clean Glimour-esque echo very well. All in all, this is a solid pedal for the price, but as your develop your sound, you may desire more control. Electro-Harmonix's other multi-pedals have some of these features. The Epitome, Soul POG, and Turnip Greens all have effects loop sends and returns, and the ability to modify the order of effects. Now I know this pedal may not benefit from those options, but it goes to show how other pedals may give you more versatility.

Great at doing what it's made for. Straight forward, easy to dial in, low cost. Works great for my bass solos.

The Tone Tattoo is just another incredible product from electro-harmonix. I have almost filled my pedalboard with electro-harmonix pedals as they have proven themselves to be top of the line, very rugged and the sounds are in my opinion fantastic! having three pedals in one is a real plus, my last pedal was the Epitone which I thought could not get any better but I was wrong because read more the sounds that I get from the Tone tattoo are even better, my favorite being the Metal muff. There are way to many combinations to go over here but this is a great pedal that is very easy to use and compliments my others perfectly. Highly recommend this and all of their products.

This multi- effects pedal is a steal for the price. You get killer distortion, good chorus, good analog delay and a noise gate. If you never used a noise gate, you will really appreciate it. Even with humbuckers, when you stop playing there is slight noise or hum. The noise gate gives you complete silence between pauses in play. You can dial in any rock or metal sound you are going read more for. If you want heavy thrash distortion this is definitely for you. Buy it from Sweetwater. They Rock!
