Expanded my amp's options at a great price point

I run a VX Kraken as my main amp. It is amazing for pushed clean and metal, but the headroom on that amp isn't as good for totally pristine cleans. Enter The Jack. As a fan of Guthrie's amp tone for many years, I was stoked to pick this up without needing to buy a whole other amp. It integrates seamlessly with my pedal setup, and now my Kraken is capable of four different channels… read more - the two it comes with, and the two from The Jack preamp. The design is pretty smart and the switching is seamless - if you run it in Amp Thru mode, when the pedal is off, your amp uses its own preamp section. When you engage the pedal, your amp gets a completely new preamp characteristic while still using the power stage as before. Very easy to match volume levels, and the controls are super intuitive. Besides the technical details - the sound of this preamp is just amazing. The clean channel is perfect and has a lot of headroom before it starts to break up, and channel 2 is a raging monster of gain. At this price point, the tube tones you get are undeniably awesome and authentic, and you can bring this goodness to any amp with an effects loop. Great work on this one, Victory.

I am using this in front of my stereo amps right now since my fx loops are in stereo. I like both channels clean side can get a little crunchy if you want. I use a comp in to it for the cleans. The high gain side is very good as well it has a clarity to it wich helps alot when using it with delays and reverbs in the effect loops. I plan on testing this out in the amp through mode… read more but am sure it will sound great. Took a chane and I am very happy I did!
