DIEZEL VH4 DOES NOT DISAPOINT !!!

Patrick Juskiewicz

I've heard Diezel amps before and figured there was NO WAY to come close to that sound with just a pedal. I was SO wrong!! This little guy is awesome. I've never heard anything like it. It's not for the timid. The response of each knob is sharp and quick, especially the PRESENCE, GAIN AND DEEP. The most impressive one is the DEEP knob. It brings all the low end right up front without read more getting muddy or drowning out the other tones. Your sound gets THICK but remains CRISP. I've been using it straight into an Orange 20w amp and it's absolutely incredible. Nothing compares. My ONLY negative is the little blue indicator light. It's VERY bright and shines directly into your eyes as you adjust the knob settings. A piece of tape solved the problem. Overall, an absolute treasure and well worth the money.

I've got a 50 watt handbuilt 4 hole Marshall Clone, and I mean handbuilt by a guy who makes these amps one at a time, by himself. This Diezel pedal~ is one mean machine. I was looking for the missing ingredient for tool type tone and this was it. I liked it as a standard pedal in the amps front end but my plan was always to feed a secondary amp to blend with the Plexi as well as read more feed a Cab IR for recording and silent practice which is where the power amp out comes in to play. This is where this thing shines! There is a ton of gain available. What is unexpected however is it's clean tones.Coming from a Plexi I'm used to rolling back volume to clean up and digging in or cranking up my guitar volume knob for my overdrive. This reacts the same way which is odd for such a high gain monster. Chords are clear and well defined and the presence and deep (resonance) knobs are great additions. It's relatively clean as well and there very little hiss. I have a 6L6 fender (as well as another Marshall) that I'm going to try for the 2 amp experiment. So I'll have my Plexi into a 4x12 then the Diezel into a 6L6 power section feeding a 2x12 once I've got this all integrated into my pedal board. Currently I'm feeding a Nux Solid Studio cab IR. I've loaded my own IRs and it sounds incredible using the VH4 power amp out I'm basically using this as a preamp with an old Boss DD2 delay before it for silent pratice right now and will be recording that tone soon. Of course there is Sweetwater's amazing customer service which is the best. The VH4 is definitely as advertised

WOW, where has this thing been all my life?

After decades of searching for a great guitar amp distortion, my quest has finally come to an end. I've been a pedal hater since the early 80's and prefer plugging straight into an amp. Not anymore thanks to this pedal. It's just turned my TS-9, DS-1 and even Tubeworks RealTube pedals into expensive paper weights. Based on past experience, I had very low expectations so the experience read more with this pedal really amazes me. It's VERY articulate. Usually through pedals or even amps the distortion causes the low notes to do frequency masking on the high notes which drowns them out. The word for this pedal is "clarity"... lots of clarity. Even with full-blown, in-the-mud dirt and distortion, this thing still lets all your notes be heard. I also love the way it feels when playing through it. It responds to transients really nicely. Chuggs and ghost notes are well defined but still plenty dirty. I've never played through a VH4 head but was even thinking of buying the Brainworx emulation but not now. This thing is giving me exactly what I want to hear from a rock or metal amp. I haven't even plugged it into the front of an amp yet. Just used it's line out into the FX return on my three and none of them disappointed me at all. In fact, it's so good I probably won't ever use it in the front of an amp, just the FX return (or line in if I had an amp with one). It sounds amazing into my Marshall DSL40Csw, Mesa Boogie Single Rectifier (older two channel) and even my workhorse Egnater Tweaker. The Tweaker was the biggest surprise. I've got it going into a Marshall 1960B cab upgraded to Creamback 65's and the low end was so full and punchy that I could feel it in my feet through the floor and my flip flops. I did a test recording with that setup into a 57/R121 using a BAE1073MP and blending with a Radial Mix 2:1 box into a Lynx Aurora. WOW! It's perfect for recording which is all I do - no live playing for me. So I can highly recommend this sweet little puppy. It has instantly become one of those "pry it out of my cold, dead hands" types of gear. And this is coming out of the mouth of a pedal hater! Well, former pedal hater. I'm looking forward to getting an 18v power supply as it can handle that too. The separate line and instrument outs make this thing as versatile as I'll ever need. Thanks to all at Sweetwater for your immediate shipping even during all this CoVid19 stuff.

I recently purchased a Diezel VH4. I initially demoed it along with the Hebert pedal and the Abasi pathos. The Herbert was over the top, the pathos was amazing but just slightly less amazing than the VH4. They both felt like real amps, but the VH4 has some harmonic character that was just a bit more convincing. Along with my amp, it’s a perfect third channel. I’ve never been read more this happy with an amp pedal before. I’m using it with a Friedman Dirty Shirley set to fairly clean setting.

Exactly the drive I was looking for. A very well made clone. Played it through a marshall DSL 40 and it was fire.
