Great Guitar

Bill

I've had this guitar for a week now and boy am I impressed. It's very well made and quite frankly, it's beautiful. On top of that it sounds fantastic. There is a really full sound coming from this guitar. My whole collection is within this price range and this one sounds the best. Setup is a little high for me, but that's adjustable. As for the passive electronics, it's plenty read more loud with my Fender Acoustasonic amp. The PA system is going to require some sort of preamp though. I like the wider nut as I also play nylon and 12 string guitars. Great for picking too. No regrets with this one. I also need to give a shout out to Jonathan Casarow, the awesome guy I deal with at Sweetwater. He's much more that a salesman and I always look to him for advice. He's never steered me in the wrong direction and I really appreciate that.

Great Bang or the Buck

I'm a big Yamaha fan.. They are totally underrated. I bought one of these in Feb 2022 and love it. I have 2 other higher end Yamaha's that I play, but wanted a dreadnought I could just kick around with. The neck is fast and smooth, the guitar has plenty of low end and is a wall of sound. Even my wife who doesn't know the difference between any of my guitars was like "Wow, that sounds read more big". Out of the box the action was good to go and no buzz what so ever. The fit and finish are perfect and its a joy to play. You really cannot go wrong with any of the L series guitars. One day I'll have an ll36 :-)

Built like a tank, sounds like a dream

I have an older model from the Taiwan era. It has a three piece neck that is bomb proof. Only goes out of tune if there is a temperature change. Sounds awesome and is my favorite acoustic. Because of the body size it is a little less comfortable to play than thinner guitars but everything has it's cost. I'll probably buy a second one so I don't have to run upstairs when I want read more to play in the living room.

Get this guitar, you want regret it.

I searched and searched for the sound this guitar puts out. Taylor came the closest to it but even Taylor doesn't sound as good to me. I bought a 114 which I do like. It hasn't been out of the case since I bought this one. I could not find a LL6 to play in person so I took a chance and ordered it. This Yamaha LL6 has a full beautiful sound. Lots of bass but sparkly highs on read more the top end.

Nice full sized Dreadnought tone

Had this guitar about a year. I have a couple other acoustics, martins, guilds. This Yamaha holds its own against some of the best. Yea I know where it"s made. Trust me guitars coming out of that part of the world are different than they were 10-15 years ago. These are high quality instruments and built like a tank. I bought this for a beater that I wouldn"t have to worry about, read more but this guitar plays and sounds so good I"ve been babying it from day one. Gets polished weekly, and looks great. Very happy with this guitar, for the money you can"t go wrong with this. 15 years ago this would have been a 2000 guitar.

What a beauty LL6ARE

First off, I own several entry level Martins and Taylors, and several other brand guitars. I chose to pick the LL6 ARE up after purchasing a Yamaha FGX830C. I was very impressed with the FGX830C, which has a solid Sitka spruce top and rosewood back and sides so I considered another Yammie. I was a little hesitant to pickup the LL6 ARE because I am mostly a strummer and the Engelmann read more spruce top was said to be better for finger picking and the sound might be a little muddled for an aggressive strummer. Not so! The Engelmann sounds absolutely fantastic as a strummers guitar. The rosewood back and sides are layered but sound beautiful. I have replaced the saddle and bridge pins to bone and this guitar sounds absolutely beautiful. Aesthetically the guitar is gorgeous! And it plays like a dream. Craftsmanship is superb for the price range. I highly disagree that this guitar is not best suited for a strummer. Highs are crisp and clean, mid range is right there and low end, well perfect. Everything is in my opinion is balance across the fret-board. The guitar came with great action to begin with and when replacing the saddle I lowered it a bit more and this guitar's play ability is what makes it so fun to play! If you are a mostly strummer guitarist don't think this guitar is not for you because Engelmann spruce is better suited to finger picking. My hesitation to buy this guitar quickly dissolved after playing it as a strummers guitar. You may be hard pressed to find one in a local store to take for a ride, as was I, but I think you will love this guitar without having a - hands on try before you buy opportunity. That's my experience anyway. And of-course Sweetwater has never let me down on any of my purchases from them, follow-up calls, emails, they do it right, or make it right. Kudos to such a great company!

Nice!

This guitar lives up to the Yamaha standard. The fit and finish are excellent. The tone and sustain are great. However, the plastic nut and saddle are a disappointment on such a fine instrument. I replaced both with Tusq with a noticeable improvement in tone and clarity.

Wow

Let's be honest. For the money yamaha delivers much higher quality than the others. This LL6 is no different. This guitar is a dreadnought so it is full sized, but it has FULL TONE and playbility. The satin finished 5 piece neck is amazing. Action is nice and low. I like the 2 dots on the 7th and 3 on the 12th. Only downside is the case is separate, but that has nothing to do with read more the great sound and playability. The L stands for luxury and as a entry level into that series it delivers in droves! Sweetwater was amazing as usual making sure this was ready to go right out of the box!

I picked this over a Taylor...

...and have NO regrets. Wanted to find a quality acoustic without spending a ton of money. I love Taylor's but a) everybody and their uncle seemingly has one and b) my budget wouldn't allow for a 200 series. The GS mini sounds great but I prefer a full scale guitar. The 110 was a tad underwhelming and very plain looking. Shopping for alternatives, I found the LL6 at Sweetwater. read more Couldn't find one to try in person so I did as much research online as possible. I decided it was worth the gamble to order it. So happy I did. First off, the guitar (I chose brown sunburst) is aesthetically superior to anything that I found in the same price range. The binding, inlays and gold tuners just take it to another level. The neck is super smooth and comfortable. The sound is clear, warm, and beautiful. I'm by no stretch a pro, and some may vehemently disagree with this next statement but I feel like I got a guitar that is every bit as good as a Taylor 200 series, but for a lot less money. I will say that I found two small (minute really) flaws in the binding, but nothing that would make me return the guitar. Can't expect perfection from a Chinese made guitar in this price range, but Yamaha sure came pretty close.

Excellent product and service

Everything about my buying experience with Sweetwater was perfect, and the guitar meets all expectations. I bought it for my husband, and he absolutely loves it.
