Built like a tank, sounds like a dream

I have an older model from the Taiwan era. It has a three piece neck that is bomb proof. Only goes out of tune if there is a temperature change. Sounds awesome and is my favorite acoustic. Because of the body size it is a little less comfortable to play than thinner guitars but everything has it's cost. I'll probably buy a second one so I don't have to run upstairs when I want read more to play in the living room.

Nice full sized Dreadnought tone

Had this guitar about a year. I have a couple other acoustics, martins, guilds. This Yamaha holds its own against some of the best. Yea I know where it"s made. Trust me guitars coming out of that part of the world are different than they were 10-15 years ago. These are high quality instruments and built like a tank. I bought this for a beater that I wouldn"t have to worry about, read more but this guitar plays and sounds so good I"ve been babying it from day one. Gets polished weekly, and looks great. Very happy with this guitar, for the money you can"t go wrong with this. 15 years ago this would have been a 2000 guitar.

First off, I own several entry level Martins and Taylors, and several other brand guitars. I chose to pick the LL6 ARE up after purchasing a Yamaha FGX830C. I was very impressed with the FGX830C, which has a solid Sitka spruce top and rosewood back and sides so I considered another Yammie. I was a little hesitant to pickup the LL6 ARE because I am mostly a strummer and the Engelmann read more spruce top was said to be better for finger picking and the sound might be a little muddled for an aggressive strummer. Not so! The Engelmann sounds absolutely fantastic as a strummers guitar. The rosewood back and sides are layered but sound beautiful. I have replaced the saddle and bridge pins to bone and this guitar sounds absolutely beautiful. Aesthetically the guitar is gorgeous! And it plays like a dream. Craftsmanship is superb for the price range. I highly disagree that this guitar is not best suited for a strummer. Highs are crisp and clean, mid range is right there and low end, well perfect. Everything is in my opinion is balance across the fret-board. The guitar came with great action to begin with and when replacing the saddle I lowered it a bit more and this guitar's play ability is what makes it so fun to play! If you are a mostly strummer guitarist don't think this guitar is not for you because Engelmann spruce is better suited to finger picking. My hesitation to buy this guitar quickly dissolved after playing it as a strummers guitar. You may be hard pressed to find one in a local store to take for a ride, as was I, but I think you will love this guitar without having a - hands on try before you buy opportunity. That's my experience anyway. And of-course Sweetwater has never let me down on any of my purchases from them, follow-up calls, emails, they do it right, or make it right. Kudos to such a great company!

Let's be honest. For the money yamaha delivers much higher quality than the others. This LL6 is no different. This guitar is a dreadnought so it is full sized, but it has FULL TONE and playbility. The satin finished 5 piece neck is amazing. Action is nice and low. I like the 2 dots on the 7th and 3 on the 12th. Only downside is the case is separate, but that has nothing to do with read more the great sound and playability. The L stands for luxury and as a entry level into that series it delivers in droves! Sweetwater was amazing as usual making sure this was ready to go right out of the box!

Excellent product and service
