Fantastic bass!! Thank you Yamaha, Sweetwater and Matt Stockberger!
I was a little worried about buying a bass online, and one I had not played in person but, I love the fact that Sweetwater photographs in HD the actual bass you are purchasing. I also loved the fact they inspect each instrument with their 55 point checklist for defects prior to sending it to you. I had played a TRBX505 at a local store and liked it the best of all the 5 strings… read more they had available in stock but didn't like the color and, it was more expensive than what Sweetwater has them listed as. I then saw this bass, the TRBX305 @ Sweetwater.com, and loved the color and figured it was pretty similar to the TRBX505 except for the electronics. I loved the idea of the 5 position switch. I have played a few 5 strings but never owned one and didn't want to spend too much on my first 5 string bass. I already own 10 basses, including 2 uprights, a real 1957 and 1959 Fender P bass, Fender jazz plus bass, ESP, and 2 Deans, Kay and Danelectro along with 2 Marin guitars, including a 1969 D-28 I bought in 1969 and a PRS and a Squire Strat and Epiphone. I decided to order this bass loved the fact you are able to track your order each step of the way. It was free shipping and no sales tax because I live in Delaware. It arrived in 3 days in flawless condition. It played and felt wonderful right out of the box! It feels very solid and the knobs feel expensive and turn very very smooth. The tuning pegs are solid as well. The neck is a satin finish and love how it feels. The intonation is spot on and the neck is straight with the perfect amount of relief. If there is anything at all that needs adjusting is the nut may be a hair too high. I am taking it to my guy to have him check the slot height. It still feels good, and if it is, it's only a schosh. Yamaha makes some quality instruments and I would definitely recommend this bass and Sweetwater. Thank you Matt Stockberger for taking such care of me and my purchase. I highly recommend this bass if you don't want to break the bank and Sweetwater for your store! Jan Zukowski
