Option heaven
There are so many options for this great pedal. Right now the Studio setting is my go to setting. Tone switch works better then I expected. Between the four modes and three tone settings and 20db of boost there is nothing I can't find with this pedal
ZIO Yep
I tried using my ZIO as a lead boost placing it just after my RevvG3, and found that it tightened up the low frequencies, but the overall result included an undesirable harshness to the upper frequencies. I contacted the good people at Source Audio who advised me that they had designed the ZIO as a buffer that works optimally when placed first in the guitar signal, even before… read more a tuner. Now I get the tight low frequencies that I was looking for, Low-Cut option.
Great Pre-amp
Using it as entry point to a multi pedalboard multi amp rig. Using the Mute setting to silence all. Very Quiet, Great choice of pre-amp models & a boost/level control. Well Done!
You miss it when it's off
I'm really happy with my tone and setup. I played the Zio and it sent it over the top. Then when I turned it off my whole tone went flat. While the pedal does boost, to me it was much more valuable as an always on preamp that sweetened everything up. The studio setting in front of my first drive was magic.
That Extra 10-15% to a better tone
I use this in front of a Kemper or in the 1st mono effects stomp loop. It cleans up the signal and can subtly shape it without heavy handed coloration like most boost / OD pedals like the 808 flavors add. You have the option of using a 9volt power supply or for increased headroom you can run it at 18volts. I use the latter and the direct out of the Kemper is pristine for recording… read more into the DAW if needed. It delivers as advertised - it just sounds better. That Extra 10-15% to a better tone!
