It's the best, stop your search
There's not much to say other than this thing will do it when it comes to power, and oh boy is it quiet!
Strymon Zuma 9 Awesome
I was having issues with noise coming from my pedals using other isolated power supplies. After replacing them with the Stryman Zuma 9 absolutely no issues! Quiet as can be. I would have no problem referring this product to any of my friends.
This took my overall sound quality to the next level... I'm stil in awe about it.
Background static and hum? Gone. My signal being more and more destroyed as I engage multiple gain stages? Gone. My not understanding how valuable an isolated power supply can be? Gone. Overall improvement in the quality of my sound? ...... It's extraordinary. I've learned that the value of a good isolated power supply is severely understated in the gear world. I had… read more known for a good while that I was doing things the cheap way (i.e, every pedal being powered by a 9V DC adapter) but I didn't know how much I was handicapping my tone. I figured I was getting a lot of excess noise but I just didn't realize how much. When I plugged in all of my pedals to the Zuma and powered it on I was awe-struck. All of the background static and hum and hiss I was accustomed to just vanished. I even cranked up entire rig for maximum gain output and I still didn't really have any excess unwanted noise in the background. And while I made sure to use good 9V DC adapters before, with the Zuma I feel like my rig sounds better than ever. It's like the Zuma just took my overall sound quality up a few notches. I was just expecting a reduction in background noise but it did that and then some, AND improved the sound quality across the board. This should have been one of my first purchases before diving into the pedal world. I got a bunch of great pedals first and then got this power supply when I should have done it the other way around. It's almost as if I'd bought a high-end sports car but for a year had been driving it around with bald tires. But now that I've got the right "tires," I can drive the car like it was meant to be driven. I cannot overstate how much value this purchase bought me. Until I plugged everything up I wasn't fully aware of how valuable and how much of a difference something like a Zuma can make. It made the biggest single difference out of any other piece of equipment I've ever bought for my rig. Without question. If you're dealing with using 9V DC adapters for all of your pedals, please do yourself a favor and get one of these. Or get the Ojai if you've got a smaller rig. Maybe other power supply bricks are just as good, but I did notice that Strymon mentions dual isolation when most of the other ones do not, so that dual isolation may be making a good bit of difference.
