Extremely happy with this guitar!
I wanted to add a Tele to my guitar collection, and when I was this one and watched the video I was hooked. Extremely happy with the purchase. I love the psychedelic dragon and the story behind this guitar. Listening to Jimmy Page and those early Zeppelin albums was made me want to play guitar. It's fun, fast and easy to play, turns heads and sounds great. Here's a video of me playing… read more the live Sympathy for the Devil solo on "Get Your Ya-Yas Out" with it.
The Dragon
I have followed Jimmy Page through most of his career. This is a beautiful asset to my guitar collection and to remember the early days of Led Zepplin. The workmanship and time that went into its reproduction make it one of the best Fenders I own.
Nice guitar however...
great guitar. love the weight, terrific tone and sustain from the ash. neck is slim and quick.. it's crazy how much more bendable the strings are with the top-loading bridge...felt that difference immediately compared to my paisley reissue tele. find the PUPs to be plenty powerful..they don't lose their footing when guitar volume is dimed and they recover well. Very crisp cleans… read more and not as bright as i thought it would be...which is ok. Usually you have to trim the tone a bit to take the crispiness out of a tele...find the guitar very balanced in that regard. of course, the dragon is way cool, and the gloss finish seems like it will take a beating (tho highly unlikely this particular guitar will). The only challenge was the 5th fret was up...I took it to my tech guy and he seated it correctly and set it up, restung with 10 52 Slinky set. Perfect now. As always Brent was great at Sweetwater. This was supposed to be a Christmas present but my wife had it sent to the house and guees who was home...lol
Awesome
Great vibe, great tones, totally cool package
First-Rate!
A total winner in every way. Super-comfortable neck and fingerboard--bends are surprisingly easy and on-point, even with the vintage 7.25 radius. I also can't overstate the unique Jimmy Page custom pickups--incredibly expressive and responsive, with a tone that sets this Tele apart from all others--and I've played/owned A TON of Teles (RnR Relics Jeff Beck Esquire, Fender Buck… read more Owens w/ Barden pus, various Esquires, etc). And it's purty! As an FYI, I had mine set up at Sweetwater w/ Rev Willy's 10-46 strings as those are my new favourites, and I believe, make a big difference in tone, but that's just my opinion. Thanks as always to Mr. Bob Mondok for going the extra mile and securing a total winner--always a pleasure!
