So fun to play

This guitar is just so fun to play; I really can't recommend it enough. It's absolutely gorgeous, well constructed, and honestly so much less "weird" shaped than people think. Awful guitar.

I purchased this guitar for my own birthday. I am left handed but play a guitar strung right handed. I bought the left handed version and used my method of altering the nut to string it right handed. As I was re-stringing it I noted that tuners were defective. So right out of the shipping box this thing needed a new set of machines. At that point I studied this guitar up and down… read more and upon close inspection of the entire instrument I came to the painful conclusion - this guitar is garbage. Worse, because I altered the guitar before my realization, I can't return it. So I'm stuck with a guitar that is worthless. I cannot justify loading another $ onto this cheap Mexican piece of garbage. And it's not playable. So as per my way, I slung it across the room, threw its remains in the cheap bag it came in, and put it out it where it belongs - in the garbage can. At this price, you're too close to a quality US made instrument to justify throwing down a G-three on this worthless POS. Don't do it!

About Time for Jag-Stang to reappear!

I owned between 25-30+ of the original first 2 runs of Made In/Crafted In Japan Jag-Stangs so I feel I can speak on this guitar. (I used to buy them, fix them up and resale them.) I was a little leery of the Mexican label at first, but in all honesty, from all that I can remember, I wouldn't trade my MIM Jag-Stang for one of the original runs. This just feels solid and well built… read more overall. Sure, I miss the old pricing, and Cobain's name adds a few hundred easily, but I have no regrets about buying this guitar. I've had it for 3 months now and I don't have any real complaints about the guitar itself. I know the trem can be annoying for some folks, but I've never used the trem bar on mine. I have American, Mexican, and Japanese made Fenders and right now, this is the best playing model I own. It could be a great factory setup or the Inspection done by Sweet Water, but I am truly impressed, especially when compared to the originals. (Don't get me wrong, I like the originals, but these seem higher quality to me.) The neck/frets feel about like an American made model. The main gripe I have is the gig bag instead of a hard-shell case at this price point. But in all fairness, it is a nice gig-bag, I just wouldn't travel with it. The case I did special order for it has been on backorder since I placed it in August. Playability is great if you are cool with the smaller neck-works great for me-and the pickups feel upgraded from the original in my opinion. It looks/feels weird to some people at first, but it's actually a very well balance guitar that can cover Grunge to Surf Rock to Classic Rock and everything in between. It's a versatile instrument. Probably more so than the Cobain Jaguar, and that's saying something because I love that guitar. It's just a cool instrument; you don't have to be a Nirvana fan to enjoy it. (Not to mention these things seem to hold their value!) Tuners also seem upgraded from the originals. I remember having to tune a lot on the old models, but even in a gig bag, this stays in tune very well. Fit and finish are very well done. The Mexican Plant is putting out some killer instruments these days! I would love one in Fiesta Red, too. The single coil is pretty classic Fender single coil tone, and the humbucker is really nice for a little overdrive or full on 90s Grunge. Great customer service as I have come to expect.

Very Good Build Quality

The bar falls outta the cigar. The switches make it impossible to easily flip from neck to bridge pickup. The body has no contours because the design may have been "In Utero" at the time of Kurt's passing. The pickups may or may not be to your liking. (Low output and somewhat bassy). Whatever. You want it. It's a Jagstang. It's made in the Mexico factory to a very high standard.… read more Mine hasn't been ignored for even one day. The price is fair. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent remake

Just received my Jag-Stang this morning and it is a blast to play. Sounds amazing, plays fast, and hits hard. The 7.25" radius is taking some getting used to after years of a 9.5" radius, but I'm sure I'll adjust.
