YEAH! HECK YEAH!!!
INCREDIBLE is the word that I used to describe this guitar! Not your normal Telecaster and Thank Goodness for that! I chose the amber top because so many guitars these days are a shade of red, cherry or black. The amber top is out of this world in looks and color. I love that this guitar also has binding. The neck is perfect, no dead notes, no fret buzz or sprouting, and the action… read more is set to how I like it and is fast and smooth. What the biggest draw for me is the Seymore Duncan pickups, especially having a SD pearly gate in the bridge position. Let's face it, single coil pickups make guitars sound like you're playing in a hollow tin can. Some people like that sound, but no me. These Seymore Duncans turn this guitar into a rock n roll beast! It has the push/pull pot that you can change the guitar into a single coil as well. Also, you'd be crazy not to buy this guitar at the price it's at. The quality control is amazing. I love this Telecaster! As always, Sweetwater customer service is top-notch, and my sales engineer Shaka Dhladhla is great and always gives me great customer service! My guitar arrived in great shape and double boxed.
You gotta play one
Great Guitar!! Stunning looks, fabulous feel, powerful and unique sounds. Read the other reviews. Get one!
Wow, just, wow!
Like a lot of dudes who grew up on 70s rock, when guitars ruled supreme, I always wanted to take it up. I even had an acoustic and an electric along the way and let them go, too hard when I've played drums for decades and that's easy. I finally decided, with all the apps and online lessons available that I'd get a nice instrument for myself for Xmas and actually do it. FF a couple… read more of months of research and based upon never really playing but figuring out what I wanted, and of course the reviews, settled on this instrument. Enter your consultant Matthew Klopfenstein. He verified what I thought I knew and helped me pick a great starter amp to get going. The Fender LT50 is incredible for the money and so much fun right out of the box. Go watch vids on this and modeling amps. For just starting out you can't go wrong I think. With Sweetwater, you get set up with text right to your consultant ( ask for Matt ;) )so odds and ends are available a text away (picks - a pedal for the amp and a case so far - once I saw this guitar I knew it had to be in a case most of the time). The guitar arrived and I had high expectations based upon the reviews, but honestly, this is the most beautiful instrument I've ever seen, and I've been around probably hundreds of high-end guitars in bands along the way. If you're thinking of learning, now is the best time ever. Fender has FenderPlay which has online lessons that are free to start and super-affordable for a year. Now's the time as there's a Xmas discount! The amp has a built-in tuner that's easy to use. There are tons of other youtube vids and apps and wyzant.com has tutors that can do online lessons. It was never like this the last time I tried to learn. Go for it! Thinking of taking up guitar and willing to invest in it? Reach out to Matt and take a serious look at this guitar!
A fabulous, unconventional Fender Telecaster
This FMT Tele is really, really nice! The fit and finish is excellent, the light weight (six and a half pounds) is a delight, and the tones (both humbucking and single-coil) are unique and pleasing. Not exactly like any one other guitar I can name, which is value-added in my book. And by that, I mean the guitar doesn't sound like a Les Paul, nor does it exactly offer up 'classic'… read more Telecaster or Stratocaster tones. Just tones unique to this model, I guess. And those tones are awesome. I do like the red one, a lot. It was literally down to a coin-toss between the red and amber. And the lightest-weight of all those available won out in the end. This old back of mine says, "thank you" every time I go for light-weight gear. I love it. She's a keeper!!
Excellent bang for buck!!!
I received mine about three weeks ago. I'm very impressed with the overall value of this guitar! I set mine up for .10's once I received it and set up the action and intonation. The frets are all well set and groomed with no buzzing. Excellent natural un- amplified tone. Great feel up and down the fret board, very easy to play. The pickups sound fantastic in all positions split… read more or un-split with endless tonal possibilities! This is my second guitar purchase from Sweetwater and as usual everything was perfect! Thank you Jake Barker and all the great Sweetwater Staff!
