This pedal is genius ! It allows you so sample a chord you play in real time so you can solo over it and change chords seemlessly to accompany yourself.

Very useful pedal

I play bass in a worship band and this many songs open softly staying in the root of the key. Previously I tried to play the root with a light enough finger touch to simulate a bass drone (with limited success or satisfaction). With this pedal, I can lay down the lowest octave key root and sustain it at a stable volume indefinitely. The volume you desire of the held note is adjustable, read more as is the release of the held note. I generally don't find many bass pedals valuable beyond novelty status, but this one is very handy.

Great Audio Quality and Easy to Use

I had been wanting one of these pedals for a while, mainly to play a chord while I learn scales and leads. I have a Line 6 Helix and the Poly Sustain block was included in the 3.xx update, so I held off purchasing the Freeze in lieu of the Poly Sustain. Then, I won the Freeze pedal in a contest on David Wallimann's YouTube channel (fulfilled by Sweetwater - YAY) and I have since, read more permanently plugged this pedal into one of the Helix's four effects loops. It works great - no artifacts and easier to control than the Helix Poly Sustain block (with 3 modes vs Poly Sustain block's 2; though, the Poly Sustain has more adjustable parameters), plus it frees up a lot of DSP in the Helix for other things. If I had known just how good this pedal was, I would have bought it outright! Thank you David and Sweetwater!

Also a great teaching tool!

I use this effect with my students. Great for demonstrating the sound of different scales over chords, inversions, etc. It also seems to be a solid unit and easy to use

I've been wanting this pedal so bad since the very first day it was released, but I was waiting for a soft switch version, today I received my EHX & it's incredible. I have tons of other methods that I've been using for almost a decade to achieve the same effect, but it's awesome to have another tool in my arsenal to compose layers of dark soundscapes & ambient noise rituals. It's read more probably my favorite EHX pedal & it's so easy to use. This will definitely save me a little more time in the studio.
