Gibson Custom Historic 1958 Les Paul Standard VOS - Royal Tea Burst. Let me start off by stating I have purchased many Gibson Custom Shop guitars from Sweetwater. Personally, I have always found the "58" neck profile more comfortable than the "59", just feels right to me. Not much flame on this guitar, some may disagree, but I never thought flame tops sounded better, not to my ears… read more anyway. What I love about this guitar is the neck and the sound. The Custom bucker Alnico III pickups are sweet. Gibson did a great job on these Historic Les Paul's. As always, the setup from Sweetwater is top notch. The action on this "58" is fantastic. Special shout out to my Sweetwater Sales Engineer Alden Debee, this guy is terrific.

Great guitar set up excellent. Had to replace the bridge pickup was too much treble couldn't be dialed in. Other than that cant stop playing it.

I've always been a Strat player, it was my first style of guitar and what I've always been comfortable with. I've tried Les Pauls and other humbucker guitars before but just never loved the sound or feel. Had a 2019 Traditional briefly but just didn't love it from a feel or tone perspective. But I've always thought a burst Les Paul was pretty much the best looking guitar ever… read more so recently I had started looking at them again. After reading a lot I decided it was time to try a Custom Shop model and I'm really glad I did. From the moment I pulled it from the case, strummed a chord, and felt this guitar resonate I knew it was something special. Even unplugged it sounded different than other LPs I had played on the past. And plugged in it retained an open clarity and resonance that I hadn't experienced with other humbucker guitars before. It had the sound I've always wanted, but had previously failed to find, in a Les Paul. It feels incredible as well, the neck is amazing….thick but not too thick and I felt right at home on it from the very start. Plus it's just a beautiful guitar! Flame tops are nice, but I love a good plain top and this one has delivered exactly what I wanted. It's been almost 3 months now since I've received this guitar, wanted to wait a bit to see if the feeling wore off but it hasn't. I might like it even more now then when it first arrived because it has just continued to impress me. Considering this is really the most affordable entry point into a Custom Shop Les Paul I just don't think you can find a better value if you want a killer sounding, playing, and looking vintage spec Les Paul.

Absolutely love my new 58 historic. So glad I pulled the trigger. BUT...I am disappointed that the only case candy that came with it was a COA. I would've thought that a $ guitar would include a strap and truss rod tool. None the less....very pleased.

The most gorgeous guitar i have ever played or seen! Every detail has clearly been mastered, you can get all the tones out of this one! I really cant overstate the beauty of it, Gibson Custom really nailed it on this one.
