Modern Modified Marvelous !

Sweetwater Customer

This is not my first Les Paul. Got an Epiphone LP Modern earlier this year and was thrilled with how it performed. Got an email from Sweetwater about them offering stainless steel frets.....so. The Gibson LP Modern is worlds better than than the Epiphone and in my mind well worth the extra money. I do have a habit of modifying my guitars, sometimes a little, sometimes alot. read more But my Sales Tech, Jed Elliott has always pushed through the muck I throw out and gets things done for me. This time, as I did with the Epiphone, I had Duncan Psyclone pickups installed and also chose to get the Stainless Steel frets, WOW, smooth, easy, responsive (pick any good attribute you want and enter it) This is one fun guitar and as the title says Marvelous!

Great LP

I love modern features especially the ability to get to the higher frets and the lighter weight. Pickups sound great and clean up nicely with the volume pot. The extra tones with the push pull knobs is just icing on the cake.

I've had this guitar for 1 year now & I love it. Love the contoured heel, asymmetrical neck & the ebony fretboard, and the pickups. This was the 1st of 5 guitars that I've gotten from Sweetwater. There has been absolutely no problems with this or any guitar I've gotten here. Ben Cameron's been there for all these guitars & hopefully the next ones too.

All The Right Features In A Gorgeous Package

This beauty has all the right features without being complicated. I picked the metallic red variation and I just love it's look. It's the star of my collection, and it seldom goes for more than a day or so without being played. The looks entice you, but then the features make it such a dream to play. The electronics give you a great variety of tone without being complicated. You read more won't have long at all before you are able to reproduce just about any tone you can imagine, and that keeps you interested in further exploring the extent of your own talent. I've owned many Gibsons, including custom shop pieces, and this one outshines them all. Matter of fact, I sold a $5k C/S Gibson to buy this one, and I've never had a second thought about it. I put the balance toward a 2020 Fender Strat Ultra, and that is the cherry on top!

A dream!

Even Better Than I Expected

This is my 4th Gibson and 2nd Les Paul and it is wonderful. I have a 2016 Les Paul Standard HP and wanted a backup and ordered the modern as it has the similar feel and weight as my Standard HP (BTW, I replaced the auto-tuners with Ratio Tuners). After several hours of light and heavy playing (practice practice practice before gigs) It is a perfect backup or first. Fit and Finish read more is excellent, setup above and beyond what I usually experience, tones with push/pulls are terrific and will satisfy me needs nicely thank you. Weight seemed a bit lighter than my LP-STD-HP which is always a good thing. Nice plush case (I always keep them in their original cases). Many thanks to Chris Newman my Sweetwater Rep for getting this one for me - great job Chris!

Excellent Sound, Look and Feel

Mine arrived today (thank you Sweetwater and Chris Newman). The fit and finish is excellent and above expectations. Setup was almost perfect and I will not be adjusting anything for some time. The range of sounds is truly remarkable and should satisfy just about everyone. This is my second Les Paul (Les Paul Standard HP is my other one) and they just keep getting better. Can't read more say enough good things about how great it feels, how easy it is to play, and awesome sounds I can get out of it.
