Les Paul standard 60’s
This guitar has been a joy to play. I actually can't wait to pick it up and play it everyday. It is beautiful and smooth It inspires me to grow as a guitarist and it won't be the last one I buy. Bravo Gibson! Sweetwater is amazing and I'll do business with them going forward.
It doesn’t get much better!
The guitar fit and finish are great. The slim taper neck is ideal for a player like myself with smaller hands. The set up and action are nice and low, and is a pleasure to play. The plecked frets from the factory is another playability plus. The humbuckers sound great. This guitar is a big quality upgrade for Gibson. The only disappointment was the case, it is not up to the… read more standard of this fine guitar at this price level. The lid is flimsy and has to be bent to get the locks to close.
Hands down the best guitar I've ever owned!
I've had what I guess is the typical history with Gibson Les Paul's over the years: they've ranged everywhere between being a total piece of crap, a Custom no less, that refused to stay in tune (from a long time ago) to a very nice, but heavy, tone monster, a Traditional Goldtop. Before buying this guitar I bought a Studio T which played nicely but it was just missing something.… read more When this opportunity came up, I jumped on it and I am certainly glad that I did! My sales engineer, Matthew Langston, was the man with the plan and he got this baby to me pronto. What I got was hands down the best guitar I've ever owned! The setup was perfect, the guitar has good balance and is not too heavy... but the tone!!! OMG! This baby not only plays like butter but sounds like what I've always believed a Les Paul should sound like. The harmonics I can get are unreal! It makes picking up the guitar and playing a pure pleasure! Thank you, Matthew and Sweetwater!
Looks Beautiful, Sounds Great
This guitar arrived intact, as expected, thanks to the excellent shipping packaging design by Sweetwater. Trying it out, initially, the action was set a bit high, and the G string sounded very dull. After replacing the stock strings with new Gibson Les Paul strings, and lowering the action to the recommended factory spec (6/64th - 4/64th), the playability of the guitar, for me,… read more is perfect. Comparing this to my Gibson Les Paul Studio, it seems to have a deeper, bassier sound, which I like very much. I never use any distortion pedals. I play clean, mostly jazz and blues, through a Twin Reverb. I'm glad it doesn't have the horrible sounding split coil feature like on the LP Studio. I say keep it pure and simple. I have to relearn my amp EQ settings for this guitar, since I was always using a more EQ bass boost to tame the bright tones of my Fender Strat Ultra and Fender Tele Ultra. The only modification I am going to make on this guitar is to replace the stock Grover Tuners with the Grover 502C Roto-Grip Locking Tuners. Special thanks to Rob Kramer for all of his help, and the Sweetwater team for furnishing me another gorgeous, high quality instrument.
Unbelievable axe and fantastic customer service!
The Gibson Les Paul Standard 60's lives up to its reputation! The playability is great and the resonance and tone are incomparable! Thanks to my Sales Engineer, Aric Ficek, for all of your help! He is very responsive and knowledgeable. He is great to work with and very trustworthy!
Great guitar and experience
I received my Gibson Les Paul 60s Standard within a week of ordering. I am very pleased with the shopping experience and guitar that I got. Greg at Sweetwater was very good and answered my questions and took care of my order for me. Would recommend shopping at Sweetwater.
Love it!
What more can I say? It's a beautiful Bourbon Burst Les Paul. Perfect out of the box and sounds beautiful! Thanks to the SW crew that helped me compare and play different ones in the store.
Great quality gibson les paul
hi i have a gibson les paul 2021 standard, its great to see gibson going back to what they do best, make fantastic guitars again,i have a new standard it lives up to everything that I expect from gibson. the finish is fantastic, that playability of the neck and the whole guitar it just right. the 61 bustbucker pickups are great pickup they do clean and and hard rockin at a touch… read more of a button, the neck is straight and nut is cut prefect. i use 11's on the guitar i did have to touch the truss rod, just tweeked the action to my liking and i. was off. the cool new black case is very well made as well. and case candy and. tool. and the strap and lovely photo of the guitar. im glad i didn't buy a classic or a studio one the standard is always the way to go. if you can afford it. Thanks gibson for your hard work i know i will enjoy the guitar for long time.
It’s perfect
For a classic style instrument, it's an absolute monster. The way it resonates with even simple strumming is beyond belief, it feels like it'll rattle your fillings out if you have them. You can tell it's special as soon as you take it out the box, open the case and sit it in your lap. Even the case, which was made in Costa Rica, just exemplifies quality and durability. Gibson also… read more has fixed the issue with the pick guard damaging the finish by now adding a felt washer where it touch's the body. I've already begun adding my own touch to the guitar by adding Schaller strap locks and soon as they come in, Grover keystone locking tuners to really set it apart.
Gorgeous
This is my first Les Paul coming from Strat-land, I decided to go with burstbucker 60's style for the humbucking pickups and the slimmer neck profile. Absolutely blown away by the sustain, the solid body mahogany, the pots are precise and offer the full variety of tones. I've adjusted the action and intonation a few times myself and it's super precise and amazing. I use this guitar… read more mostly in the studio, layered with digital effects, and I'm really happy with the sound. I pick it up just to brainstorm chords, hammer out warm and jazzy rhythm sections, or audition some crunchy leads, and it always asks for more. I conditioned the fretboard with Gibson's lemon fret oil, which aged the look of the pearl inlays a bit, which is fine but thought I'd mention it.
Outstanding Sound and Gorgeous to Look At.
I have had mine for almost a year now and this guitar has never let me down. I love the super full tones when clean and it's ability to growl when distorted. The Slim neck makes this the easiest and most comfortable guitar that I own. The quilted maple top and unburst fade make it a stunning piece to view.
11lbs of WOW!
After looking around a bit and comparing the different LP series, I settled on this one as my first Les Paul for a couple of reasons. First of all was the quality of the build in the Standard line. It's a birthday present to myself so I splurged a little. Secondly, the 60s neck profile feels amazing. And finally, the Bourbon Burst looks spectacular. This is an amazing guitar that… read more has unbelievable clean tones and amazing crunchy tones with the dials up. As an intermediate player, it's more guitar than I needed, but I'm 1000% satisfied. \m/
Great Guitar!
I have a '76 LP Custom and a '76 LP Deluxe and wanted a LP Standard to complete my LP arsenal. I was somewhat apprehensive to buy a new guitar fearing that the quality would not match my older LP's. However, I received my new LP Standard yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. I looked over it with a fine tooth comb to try and find a flaw, I could not. It looks great, sounds great,… read more and plays great. Gibson hit the note on this one! Special thanks to my Sweetwater rep Patrick Lantz for you continued great customer service!

LP Standard '60s (Iced Tea) The Right Choice!
Wow! So happy I ended up with this guitar. The quality is excellent and the playability is incredible. The slim taper neck is very comfortable and the fretboard super smooth. I originally tried the LP Standard '50s, but the vintage 50's neck profile is very full and chunky, which didn't fit my hand well and made it more challenging to play. With the slim taper on my '60s LP I can… read more fly around the neck. Definitely the right choice for me. I have to give a long overdue shout-out to my Sales Engineer Jason Thiele. He has represented me ever since I started shopping with Sweetwater and he has always gone above and beyond to make sure I get the right equipment and that I'm satisfied with my purchases. Initially, I was very Leary about purchasing music equipment online. However, with Sweetwater's purchasing philosophy and Jason's excellent customer service there are no worries. Thanks again Jason. Time to Jam!
