Great Guitar Setup Perfectly
First, this guitar is as beautiful in RL as it is in the photos. Out of the box, the guitar was setup perfectly. It arrived in tune, the intonation up and down the fretboard was excellent, the action was set just right. The guitar comes alive in your hands, and even without the Sustainiac on, it has resonance that just feels right. I record straight into a RME Babyface Pro FS and… read more use Native Instruments new Guitar Rig 6 for all amps and effects and it sounds so good.
Come for the Sustainiac, stay for everything else!
What led me to this guitar was the Sustainiac pickup system. Tried one out at a local shop, really fun to play around with, but that used guitar wasn't quite right for me. Looked into new models, as the Evil Twin checks all my boxes. Satin finish, stainless frets, thin/flat neck, excellent upper fret access, Floyd Rose, tolerably light weight (mine is 7 lbs 7 oz). I expected this… read more to be a bit of a novelty guitar, something I'd use on occasion just for the Sustainiac but then put down to play my regular guitars (strats, Ibanez S prestige or premium, Ibanez JS), but I find myself liking the Schecter more than I imagined I would and in my first month I've barely played anything else. I couldn't be happier with the service from Sweetwater (fair price, quick shipping, arrived in perfect condition) or the build quality and condition of the guitar. I'm a bit obsessive about details, which is why I didn't scoop up the used model locally, and I can't find *anything* wrong with this guitar. Not a single nick or scratch, no flaw in the binding, not an imperfect fret end, nothing. The setup was spot on out of the box, and it was easy enough to switch from 10s to 9s and remove a trem spring to give it the feel I prefer. The only criticism I can come up with requires me to dig pretty deep: I don't like the placement of the volume knob, which is basically hidden behind/blocked by the trem arm. Aside from this, the design and execution are just perfect.
Top Shelf!!!
I have been a Schecter fan since I first picked up the Demon-6. I you love Schecter, you need the Evil Twin in your collection.
Mad at myself
So this was my first schecter and first floyd rose guitar. I am so mad it took me so long to find this brand. There is not one thing, not one little nag, I can find about this guitar. I mean I could say I like D'Addario over EB Slinkys but really! This guitar is absolutely fantastic. Hardware-great. Fretwork-great. Finish-great. Binding-great. Setup-great. Pick an area you're concerned… read more about-I have the answer for you-It's great. Schecter has some pride in their products and it shows. Thanks to Geoff Allen for everything...again.

The sustainiac pickup works… read more great it's unique and really fun to mess around with. It sounds incredible the pickups are crystal clear and sound is tight.
