Killer Tremolo

So far this thing has been a lot of fun. Using it in stereo provides some killer effects. I like to run one channel pretty clean and the other dirty with delay. The only things that could make it better would be a level (volume) control, as it does cause some volume drop when turned on. Sweetwater was great. Was worried it wouldn't make it in the four days the shipping said, read more wrote that the 4th day (Friday) was my birthday and hoped it would make it on the comments. Nick called me the next day and informed me they would upgrade me to three day shipping to make sure it made it in time. Got here Thursday night and I got to play around with it all day Friday. It was great, unless you ask the dog, who is not a fan of helicopter Tremolo...

Simply Wow!

I use it in my mixing rig. I process guitar tracks through it while turning and taping tempo live and recording the new take. If I make a mistake, I punch-in and continue turning and twisting knobs for that perfect take. Beautiful sounds and so many features. Love it!

The Tremolo For Me!

I've tried many tremolos. The Zvex Sonar came close but half the controls were hidden and difficult to remember. This Shape Shifter has more control and it's more easily accessible. I LOVE the ratio feature and the fact that you can do 1/3. Love this pedal, couldn't be better.

Amazing Tremolo Pedal

I initially came across this pedal while looking for something to create shifting stereo tremolo effects. To my delight, this pedal pulls some weight. Of course Sweetwater customer service is top notch and the item arrived in great condition. This pedal has a ton of great features, and can pull off virtually any tremolo effect I could have possibly desired. To start off with read more its signal path is analog, so if you like to keep your signal unadulterated by digital voodoo then you can rest easy. For setting the tempo you have the choice of dialing it with the potentiometer, using the tap tempo switch, or setting a tempo and adjusting the ratio to get some seriously fast tremolos. The depth knob goes from fully dry to fully wet, so you can get some full volume swells or very subtle wavy modulations. The waveform options are great, you've got your classic sine wave, triangle, and square waves. With the shape feature you can even get close to what feels like a saw wave, but I'm not sure if it goes all the way there. It can do helicopter chops, very quick bursts of noise, or very quick signal kill switch type of effects (especially with a square wave.) And then of course the phase knob, you can set the modulation effect 180 degrees out of phase to get a ping pong style tremolo. This can be completely disorienting and very interesting at the same time. Of course the depth lets you dial in the intensity to exactly where you want it, and all of the features prove to be very well thought out and very useful. I gave it a 4.5 stars only because there is no expression pedal features, even though I don't think one would be very needed it would have been fun to control the rate while your hands are busy. Over all I would highly recommend this stomp box. I've got two amps, an AC15 and Deluxe Reverb which both have tremolo options, and this pedal shows just how much more a tremolo can offer.
