Surprisingly Terrific
This guitar is pleasantly surprising in every way. Not only does it sound terrific and play like a dream, it is a beautiful instrument. Unlike previous Tribute models, the fit and finish on this guitar is superb. It felt like an old friend right out of the case. Also, I got a professional setup from Sweetwater, so no tweaking was required. It was, simply put, perfect. It has that… read more classic Les Paul sound, and mine is refreshingly light, at about 7.5 pounds. So, a shout out to the luthiers at the Sweetwater Guitar Workshop for doing a great job. And thanks to my sales rep, Norb, for taking good care of me.
Great value
First thing is I have no complaints about the guitar at all. Only a couple nit pickers. You have to add the poker chip to the switch(added one for12$) and why on earth the crappy gig bag there adding this go around. Bought mine 5 months ago and got the deluxe baseball mitt leather gig bag with the red plush inside. (Those bags are friggin A+++ nice). Besides that the guitar friggin… read more screams, love it.
Great Friendly Service
Super friendly follow up and service from Josh in Sales… Very impressed with workmanship of the Les Paul!!! Thank you very much!! John
Excellent Guitar
I've had Giitah for two weeks now, so it's review time! Giitah is a 2021 Gibson Les Paul Tribute. The Tribute is a variation of the Studio, minus the coil splitting options. It's lighter than a Les Paul Standard thanks to the 'ultra modern weight relief (see Gibson's website for a detailed description of this pattern of wood removal)' performed on the mahogany body. The combination… read more of weight relived body, solid two piece maple top, and three piece maple neck makes this guitar weigh just 8 lbs, 3 ounces. Neck: the Neck is thick, close in feel to some of the later 1950s guitars. The satin finish makes for a very smooth feeling. The fingerboard is rosewood, with 22 medium sized frets. There is no fingerboard binding. Electronics: Gibson 490R and 490T pickups, and the usual Les Paul control system. The pickups are clear and have a nice bite to them. Volume and tone pots are smooth and responsive. The selector switch is quiet. Hardware: Standard stop tailpiece, and the Nashville tune'o'matic bridge. The tuners are the horrible Gibson classics, and will be replaced with Grover lockers this week. Finish: The satin finish, and tobacco sunburst top lend a 1970s feel to this instrument that make me want to grow a moustache and play some Nazareth. In all seriousness this is an absolutely beautiful instrument. I can't adequately express how happy I am with this guitar. It plays like a dream. The weight relief does not diminish the sustain, which goes on forever. It is beautifully setup, and the action is superbly low. Major kudos to Sweetwater. It had been backordered for quite a while, but when it became available I had it in 4 days. It even arrived in tune with itself, about a step below standard tuning. This guitar is a must have for any serious music room warrior.
I love the Les Paul.
Its a great Les Paul. I have others and holds its own against my standard. The Satin finish is smooth The neck is great for lead playing what else can I say.
